I think more playable content is objectively better than watching some cutscenes and getting some weapons for free. Things like Relic weapons quests can keep the game active during drought months (Which is looking to be around 6 to 7 months this time around), the ShB relics made use of almost all the old content, so if you wanted a nice looking weapon you had the content to play through it. Added two massive zones, one raid instance, lost actions and a progression system people got lost in.

Here the problem is that the mid-core people are angry because they took a whole sizeable part of the experience away, and the casual people are like "Why are you asking for these weapons to be harder to get? Like just do some dailies, get your relic weapon and then log off and play something else". Square Enix cut corners on Endwalker, and the issue here is a lot of people (I'm on that side) don't want them for this to be the standard.
