Square Enix should retire the relic quests with Endwalker

No they shouldn't - I think they need to reconsider as what they view as the relic, and come to grasp with the reality that they will never appease everyone, regardless of how good their intentions. The quicker this is understood, the better they can create something more consistent... Which if I am being honest ShB probably had the best of it, even if it was abysmally future-proofed for Delubrum Reignae.

The steps you needed to do for the initial relic required a significant amount of effort, so those that wanted a fair upfront grind got that, but on the other hand, the number of 1-time only steps meant that any subsequent relic was easier, which also appeased those that wanted it easier to collect them all.

The FFXIV community is going through a rough time right now. World of Warcraft wasn't always toxic, but it suffered a decline and the only endgame was raiding. Then it became very toxic, very quickly. That's what we're going through right now.

While you all love the game as-is, imagine: if things were better, like in ShB or before, would you be acting like this online?

People are only reciprocating the atmosphere. So, yes, if you have people baiting and trolling online then the probably is that people would just be reacting in exactly the same way regardless of what the expansion is. Knowing who the person is, kind of. The only things that have changed is the platform they're prevalent on and the tolerance with the person rather than the expansion itself.

So the expansion is really just irrelevant.
