    How would you rank the Jobs right now?

    What's your favorite Job in the game and why?

    By role, which do you think is the best Job, the ones in the middle, and the one you like the least...and why?

    If you can do this for all roles/subroles, that'd be neat, but I know not everyone is familiar or has strong feelings for many one way or the other.

    Not certain I'd say this, but by way of illustration:

    Healers:

    Best: SCH: I think is the top since it has a lot of options, a lot of flexibility to the kit overall, and can do some amazing things, but is still relatively approachable. It brings a good mix of abilities and has an answer to most any situation, even if it takes some effort to get there.

    Middle: WHM: Is strong and straightforward, though somewhat limited in what it can do.; SGE: Is also a decent Job, but some of its optimizations are kind of weird and its kit is, in many ways, just a slimmed down SCH's.

    Worst: AST: The APM is too high, and while having a lot of abilities, many are unintuitive to use, and its main mechanic seems almost an afterthought to provide a lot of carpel tunnel busywork without really doing anything fun or enjoyable.

    (Guess I'll have to think of what my own ratings are to post them later...but this should be enough to get the conversation going). Just interested in what everyone thinks.

    The most important part of this exercise, though, is seeing what people like and why they like it. That's the most useful thing for the Devs trying to decide future changes or Job additions, after all. "What is it people actually like".

    In terms of what i want to see in my party at any given time^
    Balance feels horrible this patch to be honest. It's the first time when some jobs are direct upgrades over others in every aspect ever since i started playing.
    I don't know why we're not damage taxing classes for utility anymore *Looks at Paladin and warrior*

    Don't play much Tanks nor DPS tho..
    Im the type of player who i stick to the same role/job and play that for years.

    I have lvled 3 of the tanks (PLD,WAR,DRK) and i pref DRK.
    For Healers i pref AST over the rest,
    I used to like WHM but not so much anymore
    because it feels terrible, now that im used to AST.
    I dislike shield healers, so SGE and SCH is out of the picture.
    Of the few DPS i have tried --> SMN lol.

    WAR >>> GNB >> PLD > DRK
    WAR has epic survivablity thanks to insane self-heals, I can even solo group treasure maps with this beast.
    GNB has the most fun rotation.
    PLD is okay and DRK is boring.

    WHM > AST >> SGE > SCH
    I like pure healers so I prefer WHM and AST.
    SGE is fun and fancy.
    I still can't get over the fact that SCH was gutted, it used to be so much fun with more dps skills.

    DRG > RPR >> MNK > NIN >> SAM
    I'm not fond of melee in general but DRG and RPR are nice and sturdy.
    MNK used to be my favorite tanky melee but then they took away my spammable Riddle of Earth so I stopped playing it, it's just an average melee job now.
    NIN is too spammy and boring between bursts, SAM is even more boring and squishy.

    DNC >>> MCH > BRD
    DNC is excellent, the skills flow really well, the procs are fun.
    MCH is okay but too spammy for my liking.
    BRD is a spammy mess and needs a rework.

    RDM >>>>> SMN >> BLM
    RDM is my main and I appreciate the better AoE rotation & more burst phases in Endwalker. I only do casual content with PUGs so I don't care about the so-called "low damage" people often complain about, it's good enough for me. If I don't like the new caster, I will main RDM for another 2+ years!
    SMN is an oversimplified snoozefest, it makes me sad because it used to be my 1st job as a Sprout. Insert "Look how they massacred my boy" meme here.
    I can't stand BLM, it's slow and annoying to play, having a different rotation every 10 lvls is horrible design.

    PLD > DRK > GNB > WAR
    Just personal preference, none of the tanks suck and I enjoy all of them, but Paladin is my favourite in terms of aesthetic and available job actions. It just feels so regal, sturdy and having some magic at my side is a nice touch.

    WHM > SCH > SGE > AST
    White Mage was what I started with so I'm biased, also I enjoy the "do healing = be rewarded with a big boom" going on. SCH and SGE are alright, AST would be my favourite aesthetically but it keeps changing a bit too often for my liking. Weren't they going to adjust it again?

    DRG > RPR > MNK > SAM > NIN
    Not a huge fan of melee in general, but Dragoon feels nice to play. It's also fun in PvP so that's a plus. RPR and MNK are also cool, but I just prefer being able to keep my distance when not tanking. SAM and NIN don't really do it for me aesthetically nor gameplay-wise and they're the only jobs I'm yet to 90.

    DNC > BRD > MCH
    Dancer is great, I love the flow of the kit so much and being able to support the party is always fun. BRD is aesthetically very pleasing but not as engaging as DNC. Big numbers on MCH can be fun but personally I don't really gravitate towards it almost ever.

    SMN > RDM > BLM
    After the rework Summoner feels more like, well, a summoner. Being able to rotate through all the summons instead of sticking to one is nice, wish we could have more primals to summon in the future. RDM and BLM are also fun, slight advantage to RDM for aesthetic.

    Honestly it depends on "what" you consider "best".

    I only play RDM and SMN exclusively with an occasional jaunt into DRK and SCH.

    BUT of those two... RDM is honestly more fun pre-86th level. Once you hit 86th level then SMN gets fun again, and I have just as much fun with SMN. Damage wise its no contest, SMN is much more damaging and up through the levels barring pre-60th especially if you run Trusts you can really see it in the time it takes to get through them. RDM though is much more versatile and probably easier to run solo content with. That said, if you know what you're doing with RDM these days you can keep up, you just have to spend a lot more time in melee range to take advantage of it. It takes more effort to at least get within range in terms of DPS on RDM.

    I did check out FF Logs just to take a gander at overall DPS. But they seem to have a new rating system that doesn't tell you much about DPS, but if you break it down by rDPS and aDPS, generally BLM and SAM are still racking up the personal damage. Honestly though it really depends on WHAT you are playing, because when I ran the various trials, raids, and dungeons in top performers, when ranked by damage the classes vary greatly in the top ten depending on what specific dungeon/raid/trial you play.

    All of the DPS classes seem to be very situational in terms of how well they perform depending on content.

    There is one thing I would note...

    That new Reaper class is a hell of an AoE class. When I am running dungeons and I have a Reaper as a DPS partner we just absolutely chew through the trash mobs like it's nothing. I can tell they do a crapton of AoE whenever I play SMN next to them. SMN is a great AoE class, and I can tell when I'm with other jobs how much AoE load I am having to cover by the number of Summons I go through in a given encounter. Generally if I'm on my 3rd Summon and there's 2 mobs left with only a sliver of health I know I'm doing all the AoE. But when I'm with a Reaper, It's generally 2 summons and if I get to start on a 3rd I'll never get to finish it.

    i really like AST but they need to change the cards in pve to be aoe like in pvp. Yes it will need a lot of changes because you still wanna draw cards often for mana and don't turn the job op with the buffs. idk is hard to balance jobs Dx

    IMO

    Healers: WHM>>>SGE>SCH>AST
    Reasoning is a WHM in a dungeon is god tier with holy stuns and I find AST to be very clunky along with SCH. SGE is just great in terms of how fun it is to play compared to SCH imo.

    Tanks: WAR>>>>>>>>>GNB>PLD>DRK.
    This is from a DRK main. The survivability of the other tanks is just crazy. But WAR is on a different level in terms of self sustain in casual content particularly which gives it a huge advantage as most people play casual content. DRK is fun but it sucks to be the king of mitigation and still have to be babysitted by healers in a dungeon especially at the beginning of an expansion where TBN is the weakest due to lower health thresholds.

    Melee DPS: NIN>RPR>SAM>MNK>DRG
    I mostly play NIN if I melee because of the fast pace and job fantasty. DRG is last because of all the branching combos and animation locks.

    Caster DPS: SMN>BLM>RDM
    Simply because I love Ifrit and Bahamut and the style of SMN, it has gotten extremely dumbed down but still a great job. RDM is last because it feels like I am hittin with a wet noodle and at the end of the day you are really just a rez mage.

    Physical Ranged: MCH>BRD>Dancer
    Honestly MCH is the only physical ranged job I would play due to high APM and no real RNG in the rotation. Simply because I hate RNG in rotations which is why DNC is last on my list because it is RNG king.
