I started a new character and unlock Gunbreaker after only unlocking Sastasha and Tam-Tara. I leveled up solely from leveling roulette and PotD 1-10. It's definitely possible for new players to play the game with the new jobs.

Honestly I think the perfect middle ground would be that new players can start pick any job from level 1 but that veterans get to start from whatever the devs decide for the expansion. Lets new players try the jobs they want and avoids veterans from complaining about how shitty it is from starting back at level 1 again. If we are going to have a pirate as our melee job and it will most likely use scouting gear, I would like it to branch off of the Rouge class at level 30. The ground work is already there.
As for the magic dps class. If it is going to be the geomancer (the astrologian of kugane), I would also like it to be available at level 50 along side the samurai.
These 2 new jobs would be available for the free version as well. As incentives to draw in new players. I know that some fans may be upset if they did it this way, but I am looking at the longevity of the game.
If you have the new classes at level 70+, new players will not get the chance to try out the new cool flashy thing and be forced to play for hours of a job they didn\\\\'t want to play. Which they may decide to pass on the game all together because of it.
It's not veterans that would complain about starting back at level 1 again. It's simply a specific type of player which is found in both the veteran and new player demographics.Honestly I think the perfect middle ground would be that new players can start pick any job from level 1 but that veterans get to start from whatever the devs decide for the expansion. You'll get complainers regardless, favor new players then non-newbies will get upset that they can't do the same thing (say someone who's played for over a year wants to try GNB from lvl 1 but cant).Honestly I think the perfect middle ground would be that new players can start pick any job from level 1 but that veterans get to start from whatever the devs decide for the expansion. Give vets an easy ride and new players will complain about the amount of work they have to put in just because they're new.

and I think those players forget that we have boosted exp for second jobs. And we have plenty of experience farms in the roulette and others. And gear isn't a big issue as well.
So the viper is out. And one of the moves does look like the Rogue opener.
This thought did just occur. If the ninja and viper share the rogue. The viper can actually start at level 30. And veterans, when they unlock it, will have the viper at their current ninja level. It's the best of both worlds.
They already said Viper isn't connected to any class.
all you have to do is solo potd's 1st 2 floors and learn the beginnings of your classI wish new jobs started at a lower level to give you more time to learn it and make it easier to ease into the class instead of having an entire kit thrown at you when you pick it up for the first time. Unfortunately I highly doubt SE will change their way of starting new jobs and it will start at level 80 and not be attached to any previous class. Also the new jobs are a way for SE to hype up a new expansion and get people to purchase it, the free trial getting stormblood is kind of the incentive for new players to try it out.
