Please, for Gods' sake, don't have a Hunt achievement mount in the next expansion

Title. These are by far the worst mounts to get and they suck the fun out of the entire game. If you want any chance at getting it (at least in NA servers) you need to find a dedicated Hunt Discord server and join their hunt trains and engage with their community. S-ranks are always reported and then killed less than 5 minutes later which means you will probably miss them unless you are constantly watching for when a new one spawns (which requires Discord access and also the relevant hunt websites).

It's just not fun, doesn't feel worth it, and it takes waaaay too much time to obtain these mounts. It's just ridiculous. Please make a change to this system or at least don't require so many hunt marks to get the mount.


EDIT: My stance has changed slightly from when I first started this thread. I don't necessarily think they should do away with the mount, but PLEASE PLEASE update the system. Make the S-ranks untargettable for the first 5 or so minutes. Please, anything would help.

Or...meet in the middle and cut the S requirement in half, since 1000 S's takes significantly longer than 2000 A's.

It's part of the game. I significant one at that, since there's a mount associated with it. For people like me who want to collect every mount, it sucks.

Then don't try to get the mounts? Just because something exists doesn't mean you have to have it.

With world visit and data center travel, they're not that difficult to get. There are many hunters that get their mounts within 4 months of expansion release.

It does mean devoting a larger amount of your game time to the Hunt if you want them that fast. It also ironically means spending less time organizing trains and spawning S ranks and more time attending the trains and spawns done by others. Spawners especially will usually let other spawners know they're taking a break from spawning to focus on getting their mount faster. I don't have mine yet since I split my time between the Hunt and other activities, and when I am hunting I'm usually conducting the train or doing the spawning instead of world hopping. Doesn't bother me, I'll get the mounts eventually (should have the Tiger by expansion end if I don't set aside time to grind out faster).

Maybe it's time to rethink why you think it's important to get every mount when chances are good you stick to using the same half dozen 99% of the time.

Okay here's a suggestion I just though of:

Since most of the toxicity regarding S-ranks comes from people pulling the target too early, not waiting for people to arrive, I think it would be a positive change if the hunt mark had a period of invulnerability before anyone can hurt it. It could be 5 minutes, or perhaps it could be however long the spawner chooses.

Please consider this, SE! I know The Hunt doesn't get discussed much, but I think that's only because participation from the playerbase is so incredibly low that nobody wants to discuss it. Because it's in need of improvement.

I feel like this is avoiding the topic. This is a major part of the game. This major part of the game sucks. If a major part of a game you love sucks, wouldn't you want to improve upon it or get rid of it?

Or you just can stop letting it have power over you? I don't know the status of your character, but if you've never played 1.0 or did ranked feast pvp, you'll never have every mount anyways.

Lots of things are part of the game. Doesn't mean you have to do all of them. In fact, I bet almost nobody even tries to do it all.
A mount being associated with that part doesn't make it any more significant in itself than any other part of the game.

You want to collect all the mounts? Well, that is your choice, not something anyone forces you to do.
You think it is too much work to get all the mounts? Then don't get them all.

Wonder if this mindset is a contributing factor to why there's no blue mage mount with the Endwalker's blue mage update.

There should be more rewards for players who put the time and effort into long and/or difficult grinds, not less.
