    Ever Since Most Recent Patch I can't play the game on Direct x11

    As Title says Ever since the most recent patch that added the new last alliance raid with the twelve, if I try to launch the game in directx11 it just hangs on a black screen. If I click it at all it goes not responding then closes automatically or just closes automatically. No error message no nothing. All I can see is my cursor and it just says black. I've found various postings of ages anywhere from 2021 to the beginning of this year but nothing for this most recent patch. The game is playable on dx9 mind you but raiding in DSR it will randomly freeze when like Nidstinien falls onto the arena or other random things and it's inconvenient as the graphics are severely reduced. Does anyone have this issue or know anything I can do to fix it? Note: I am NOT on steam version. And have an Nvidia 3060ti so it's not related to AMD issues I found people talking about. The weird part is the utter lack of error message or anything of the sort Any Advice greatly appreciated!

    Things I have tried from various old posts on reddit and across the web:

    I did an entire Windows reset, did nothing
    Reset game settings via launcher
    Uninstalled and Reinstalled game fully
    Checked for updated drivers
    Disabled/Closed Discord
    Deleted the .bck file.
    Edited region and cutscene opening movie value in notepad from config file.

    I'm very sorry to hear that you've been experiencing this crashing issue. For us to better assist you, could you confirm the following:
    - Are you running any addition programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV? (e.g. Nvidia Control Panel, AMD etc.)
    - Does this crash occur on more than one character?
    - Were any system updates, or major driver updates or changes made to the PC at the time of the crash?
    - Does this crash occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does the crash occur when alt-tabbing while in borderless or windowed mode?
    - Are there any error messaged upon crashing? (If any)

    Could we also request for a system report? This can be generated by opening the launcher and going to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display and then copy and paste all the details into a response here. We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    No Other Programs running in background.
    I don't even get to the character screen if i try to run the game on DX11
    Not to my knowledge nothing had updated besides the patch for the game.
    I cannot alter the state of the game window since I don't get in game but I am on borderless windowed.
    No Error messages just black screen and eventual crash if I click anywhere.

    Greetings Adventurer!

    We would like to assist with your concern. Please try the following to see if they help:
    - Try switching to DirectX 9 or DirectX 12 (If you are able to) by selecting the ‘Config’ button on the launcher.
    - Update and reinstall the drivers once more for your graphics card and sound drivers (The graphics drivers were last update 09/11/2023. Just to be sure, check if any updates are missing).
    - Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
    - Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
    - Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.
    - Install game on different drive. (If Steam version, make sure game and Steam are installed on same drive).
    - Reinstall game (If steam version, try uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and steam).
    - Verify installation files (If playing on Steam).

    As mentioned in my initial post I am able to play on Directx9 However because it is no longer supported the performance is significantly diminished and I am having lag issues both in game and in raids that I do not experience at all when the game was performing beautifully in Directx11. There is no option for Directx12 in the Config button menu not sure if that was a typo as it's just a slider between Directx9 and 11. Weirdly enough yesterday right after downloading the new patch, I was able to login on directx11 and thought my issue might have been resolved. But for some reason when I tried to login today I am back to the black screen and then unresponsive crashing with no error message.

    I also tried a clean boot disabling everything to no avail. I did a windows reset in between my own troubleshooting and when I redownloaded the game I did so on an alternative drive. I also am not on steam so the last two do not apply. Is there any other suggestions you can provide because I really would like to be able to play on Directx11 again and not suffer the performance issues that come with Directx9

    Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Please try the following:
    - Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card and sound drivers (if applicable). As previously mentioned, it appears that the GPU driver for [NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti] was last updated [SYSTEM_GRAPHICS_DRIVER_DATE 9/11/2023 17:00:00]. At this time there should be newer versions available, please try updating the graphics driver, this cannot be done via the Device Manager.
    - Please try lowering the resolution.
    - Please try running the game as an administrator.
    - Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.

    Disable Full Screen Optimizations. To disable this, please find the "ffxiv_dx11.exe" and right click it and select properties. Then under the compatibility tab there will be a check box labeled "Disable Full Screen Optimizations". Check it and click apply.

    Open the Nvidia Control Panel and going to 'Manage 3D Settings'. From here, select 'Program Settings' and select Final Fantasy XIV. You should see an option to select the GPU. Make sure it's set to your dedicated graphics card (it may be set to 'Auto' by default)

    Delete locally saved content ('Documents' > 'My Games' folder)
    When the game is running, open the task manager, click the ‘Details Tab” Find the game and right click it. Select ‘Set Priority’ options to “High”

    Double check to make sure PC is not over heating and remove any overclocks on GPU/CPU
