Y'all know RPR has a 15 yalm dash in PVP it can use to surprise folks with its LB, right? It even lets you escape after if they DO all jump on you.

The only BS mechanics are ones that are unintuitive. Things like either match the colors or balance the colors when it isn't a boss theme or only a vague description in a debuff that doesn't actually explain what it means (Zurvan's implementation sucks, Sephirot and Sophia's are fine). Stuff like Light Rampant where you basically need a visual replay to dissect what actually went wrong because the errors all cascade and the initial one is only vaguely distinct by its exact damage output range in the battle log (seems like the main way they try to make stuff challenging is through obfuscation, lately). Or, stuff that you basically won't learn is wrong on its introduction because the game doesn't give you an opportunity to succeed, like the first boss of Tam-Tara Hard mode.

I think to this day that's the worst designed encounter in terms of being obtuse. But, aiming enemy attacks at others itself is a really fun idea that should be used more often, as long as it's not implemented in a BS way. I think it's showed up a grand total of 2 other times outside of the dungeons that let you position trash in tornadoes or whatever, once in A10s as a necessity and vs Rathalos though that's pretty much a little Easter egg. Maybe Innocence Ex counts, but that's not really another enemy you blow up, just an orb.
