Grand Company Pride is non existent.

The grand companies in this game feel very outdated and irrelevant. It is like they just stopping being important after Stormblood.

What would be interesting is having some sort of events surrounding the grand companies, perhaps even pvp oriented ones? Additionally, why is Ishgard still not an option for a grand company? I feel like the grand companies are a very untapped segment of this world and should be expanded upon because right now they do not seem anywhere near as important as a military body should be.

This is even more the case with the storyline of Endwalker unfolding. So will there be any additional relevance added to grand companies or are they just going to be a thing to be forgotten about in Dawntrail?

All I am saying is it would be nice if the grand company I chose to be a part of in ARR still inspired pride in being a part of something greater. That feeling is slipping away.

I'd really like to see some more grand company stuff added, especially since they teased the higher ranks ever since the game was released. It made more sense back in the day but nowadays it would be weird to be affiliated with a GC again like we've used to as new adventurer rather than super hero and Eorzea itself just being a tiny fragment of the planet

There's a lot of potential they just didn't have enough resources to built on past contents

Like the Frontline roulette that people queue for throughout the day or Rival Wings?

The event I found interesting that we don't have was the Grand Melee that happened in the MSQ.

Additionally, why is Ishgard still not an option for a grand company?

That would make sense. There are also the other regional governments such as the ones in Gyr Abania, Othard or Ilsabard and most likely more in future expansions.

The main issue with putting them into PvP would be if some of those governments did not exist prior to MSQ events and that would be a spoiler for new players who can PvP at level 30.

Yoshi-P used to say he could add more ranks but it must come with greater responsibility. He didn't want to increase the rank to captain without going through the effort of building a squadron system so that you are actually a captain of something. It took a very long time and seemed to be a side project but it released in a Heavensward patch with a further update in Stormblood.

So if you were to be a Commander or Marshal you would probably need to oversee multiple squadrons and coordinate an entire war. In their mind they would probably have to create some sort of RTS system for it and I don't think the player interest is there to even justify it.

Ishgard has its own standing army. They don't need a gc. The other city states don't have standing armies, hence the gcs.

I actually enjoyed the Grand Companies too... well kinda. They really needed to upgrade the healer AI on those, because they were kinda lacking.

But I actually really liked the Grand Company I built and would have liked doing those things with the Grand Company more than the Trust... though admittedly then they'd probably have to put advanced classes on them. I actually maxed out my GC at 60th. It was really fun when it worked correctly.

Honestly I felt more sense of achievement with the GC than I ever felt with the Trust.

The Grand Companies were formed in response to the Garlean invasion.
With the Garlean Empire gone, and with it the threat of invasion, there is not much reason to keep the Grand Companies around anymore.
They did indeed stop being important, and are somewhat outdated and irrelevant now.

One thing that would be nice to have is a grand company chat channel.

I know about frontlines, that one person mentioned them with a tone that implies I have a grape for a brain which isn't that case. I figured frontlines go without saying since they have existed for so long.

It would be nice if say there were certain rare resources that spawned out in the world, with a system-wide notice for where and what spawned and the grand companies compete in pvp to secure the resources for their company.

A grand melee tournament that happens once a week between the companies that grants a 1 week buff to a faction like a free company buff, but more rare and more impactful.

A way for non-pvpers to be able to spectate and wager against or for a company that is competing.

I will probably cook up a bunch of other ideas as well.

I'd like to see Conquest from XI implemented, with maybe some cool timed rewards for the top GC of the week. Could be done in seasons like CC, with different rewards for each region controlled.
