I don't own a venue. I work for a cafe in Goblet with live bard music on Ragnarok as a receptionist and on/off as an RP bartender for various clubs for friends I've made over the years.

I also attend as a guest whatever I see that strikes my fancy. Recently it's been Santa's Village type festive places, other times it's been underground RP fight clubs, a few times I attended some RP blessings of The Twelve. And I'll also go to a pub or club if it's one I like, or it's new and want to see what it's like.

I've heard it's much worse in NA yes. But I've had my fair share of unsavoury practices with many nightclubs in EU as well. If one of those happen, I don't return to them. Having said that, nightclubs overall are usually the entry point into RP overall because they're the most visible, and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon.

My issue for the most part, is that people try and group RP into what they consider good RP and bad RP in their mind. Are you RP'ing as an alchemist? Warrior of Light? Discussing Garlean and Eorzean politics? Good RP. Attending nightclubs? Bad RP.

But a good nightclub with good staff does just as much RP as lore RP. The bartenders, for example, will put effort into mixing your drinks, they'll try and create an immersive experience for the guests. They'll use emotes creatively to make it seem like they're working.

And I've seen the level of effort and time that dance choreographers will put in, to create interesting dance macros where their animations will flow naturally. Groups of dancers take time to practice and sync together. I still consider it RP.

It's all about the amount of effort people will put in to provide immersion. And if the guests are happy and want to tip with gil, I feel good effort should be rewarded.

And unfortunately there's going to always be low effort clubs that just want to fill a crowd and their discord servers and try and make lots of gil for minimal work. It's up to the players to decide what they're happy with.
