Give DJ/ Roleplay events their own tab

I think the venue ad stuff in the cities could be refined alot. I know they trying to draw ppl in but the length of their ads is what bothers people the most not so much the frequency of them being posted.

This was a case with fc ads and you generally seen little short 1 line ones praised.

This might fix the issue somewhat. Ads will still be there but no wall of text to breakup whatever convo is going on.

If you want things to change, take some screen shots and record some footage of these events happening and send it in to a media outlet. If it gets published, I bet things will change real quick.

As a club owner, how dare you. This is so beyond uncalled for, and I refuse to be thrown under the bus because some people are not a fan of what we do.

MOST people arent' a fan of what you all do.... Do u realize anyone who shouts an ad gets blacklisted by most people? I wonder if they ever wonder why some random people might not answer them in a duty lol... We hate the shouts that fill our damn chat log. It's OUR chat log, we're trying to talk to people in our FC... and bam a shout *wait wth did so and so just say? now i have to tab tab tab on my controller to the log and scroll up........ You people are a intrusion into the actual game. Most of us dont' play this to go to some stupid fake game club with auto beesknees and fake drinks and fake hookers. Stop with the shouts and i bet no one would have a problem. Stick to an ad in "Other" like you're suposed to.

THIS is what Final Fantasy XIV has turned into: a Second Life-esque social sim with gameplay relegated to a seasonal mini-game. This is what the people chose. When people think of "FFXIV", this is what will come to mind. And there is no turning back.

dude seriously I'm in ULDAH and it's like that sometimes. I avoid limsa like a PLAGUE unless i have to hop alot of worlds on the same world.... quicker at that tele by the MB.

If something bothered me THAT much, I'd just turn off shout. Guess how many venues I see advertised? None.

Also, the fake "oh the children" and "gambling is morally wrong" hand wringing is good lol.

dumbest f'ing argument i've seen. And yes i have a chat only tab that doens't have shout in it.... guess what? I RARELY USE IT. Wanna know why? I might miss shouts on things that're actually important, or mis people looking for an FC or needing help...

I'll say with almost 100% certainty that this did not happen, and if it actually DID happen, report it and move on, if they advertise it this publicly they will get banned.



The only thing you have to do is remove shouts if they annoy you, there is nothing else, the other tab is.. well.. for other things, which venues fit in perfectly.

If you remove the people going to venues, djs etc, these people will just quit, it's that simple, "banning" venues wont magically put people into savage or make them interested in it.

A "special" tab just for venues could be nice, but it also fits in "other" as it is.

o ya.. just remove shouts from my log... ok.... /facepalm

I see this comment a lot and I'm not sure if the commenters are genuinely not understanding the complaint being made or if they're being deliberately obtuse to strawman the point.

As I assume most people complaining about this would agree, I do not care at all what people do in private. I think the make believe clubs are cringeworthy and ERP is pathetic, but I can just choose not to visit those places. Normally that would be that, to each their own. The problem is that the people running those venues shove it in everyone else's face as hard as they possibly can. The main two things pissing everyone else off are:

1. Shout chat is absolutely flooded with nonstop club ad spam, most using multiple separate shouts for one ad and repeating them frequently. You can't just blacklist them because they're all hired help that get rotated out constantly. It doesn't just happen in cities either, I've seen these ads pop up out in the middle of nowhere. "Just turn off shout chat" is a ridiculous solution. Why should I have to restrict myself from a useful game feature because other people are abusing it?

2. The "Other" tab is nigh unusable for anything that isn't a club because every venue insists on posting 5+ ads. I once saw TEN ADS for the same venue. It completely drowns out everything else which is why the formerly numerous fun and original actual roleplaying venues have almost all died out or moved to discords.

Both of these issues could be solved easily. Limit your shout ads to one short and sweet message sent once every hour or two and limit the PF ads to one listing per club. Do that and nobody would have a problem.

Again if someone wants to spend their evenings beating off to catgirls, more power to you, I do not care. Just stop making it everyone else's problem.

or even better NO shout ads... against the TOS... and keep to the PF like you're supposed to

This was posted to the PF for Aether DC. They or at least some are doing in categories not meant for it.

Did you report them? Or you just post a picture on here hoping someone would see it?

You're wrong. Don't claim to have knowledge of TOS if you never read them, or talked with GM.

I talked to a GM about one of the shouters and the gm literally said they can't do anything...
