Regardless of what people think about venues, they're common enough in the game now that it only makes sense to give them their own subcategory within Party Finder.

How many of the venues are actual roleplay as opposed to online socialization using the game's tools? I doubt it's that many. Just because virtual media is being used does not make the interaction any less real than it would be over phones, webcams and other media.

I think some have a blurred idea of what roleplay is as a result of the venues being created within a genre called "role playing game".

How many venues reach that level of success?

Probably not that many, and it's still on the player if they're willing to support the venue's monetization system. Being a virtual currency in an online game, there is no harm done for the majority of individuals. They're simply having fun in an online environment.

For those who are susceptible to the negative effects, such as gambling addiction, they need real life help to develop awareness of those situations and avoid them. It's similar to those with food allergies learning to take extra care when getting food to make certain it doesn't contain whatever they are allergic to.

It's not realistic to try to protect everyone from every little thing that might hurt them.
