I think this is happening on NA servers because on EU we have some few of these ads and they are totally harmless.
Also, I remember I went on a casino before ShB ended with some old friends of mine and we had a good time there. We…I mean I lost a couple of millions but, you know it is how a casino works, still it was a nice “two-nights-break” from savaging.

I really don’t get the issue here, unless a player is bombed with private /tells from randoms advertising their own clubs, in which way are these players affecting others?
Players also can redirect the /shout and the /yell to another tab in their ChatBox to keep everything more clean when they have to step into big cities.

I’m not an RP/ERP and as much as I would like to see more PF for progging/clearing contents I hardly find annoying these PFs clubs/nights/casino and whatsoever.
I think they just give more color to the game which it lacks of it.
It’s an MMO and, beside what are doing the E/RP community (as well as tue modding comm), the game itself doesn’t do much to aggregate and create events where players can hang out together, meet new people and socialising…and maybe this is not a missing part from the game side, rather how it is supposed to be, to let players build their own content in the way they like.

If gambling is something that concerns a player…well gambling exists in real life too, and unless a player is also an activist against this activity who fights night and day to see it got ridden from the world…well, they can go on with their lives and remember that this is a game.

If 18+ rated clubs is something that concerns a player…well 18+ web sites and clubs are a real thing too, and unless they are an activist to persecute morality and decency, fighting night and days to see those got ridden from the world…well they can go in with their lives and remember that even they had had their “funny time” at least once too(if not, it’d explain a couple of things).

    Maybe I’m missing something…
It's just the spam for me tbh. While I personally dislike venues for monetizing roleplay, the spam annoys me a lot more.

It would be a lot cleaner for venues to have their own category so it can be filtered out against the other ads that also take up the "Other" tab, like crafting jobs and item trades.

Regardless of what people think about venues, they're common enough in the game now that it only makes sense to give them their own subcategory within Party Finder.

How many of the venues are actual roleplay as opposed to online socialization using the game's tools? I doubt it's that many. Just because virtual media is being used does not make the interaction any less real than it would be over phones, webcams and other media.

I think some have a blurred idea of what roleplay is as a result of the venues being created within a genre called "role playing game".

How many venues reach that level of success?

Probably not that many, and it's still on the player if they're willing to support the venue's monetization system. Being a virtual currency in an online game, there is no harm done for the majority of individuals. They're simply having fun in an online environment.

For those who are susceptible to the negative effects, such as gambling addiction, they need real life help to develop awareness of those situations and avoid them. It's similar to those with food allergies learning to take extra care when getting food to make certain it doesn't contain whatever they are allergic to.

It's not realistic to try to protect everyone from every little thing that might hurt them.
