People have asked GMs before about this topic. As long as you're not scamming, you can 100% gamble with gil in game.
Yes, people have asked GMs before. You know what they were told? To just not do it.
To put it simply, even gambling with fake currency is considered a crime in many countries. Any illegal activity is against the game's TOS, with gambling being just one of several things they specifically note as examples.

I like how you’ve completely hijacked this topic with a reasonable request to flaunt around your unreasonable one.
You mean this one? Because I'm by no means going to shy away from it. I meant every word of it.
So this is a bit dated but I wasn't able to find anything else sooner. So unless it's changed.Yes, people have asked GMs before. You know what they were told? To just not do it.

If something bothered me THAT much, I'd just turn off shout. Guess how many venues I see advertised? None.
Also, the fake "oh the children" and "gambling is morally wrong" hand wringing is good lol.

So then I have to remove the shit posting and memes just so I personally am spared from door to door energy? What about hunts? Why are people allowed to actually chat spam which mind you is against the TOS and if I don't like it I have to go through personal efforts to make a whole new tab that I have to double check if I want to engage in shout chat or hunting.
Some of their practces in order to get people into their bars however is rather suspect don't you think? You're telling me a place with no menu whatso ever, maybe only 5 or 6 people coming in can sustain a 50mil giveaway every other day? Not saying all places do that but I'm sure DJ's and RMT work partially together in order to get that sweet sweet twitch money. I respect the houstle but man as I said before, it's like approving door to door sales man.I don’t care about PF: they have their own tab and I never look at that tab.
I wish there was something similar for the in game chat though. As soon as you step in a city at certain hours your chatbox fills non stop with people advertising venues and posting lengthy messages containing several paragraphs. Oh and gambling laws apply when real money is involved, not a fake in game currency in a fantasy world (you can’t buy gil, at least not the legit way) and there’s even the Gold Saucer.
Again, I'm not saying to ban RMT. As people have said. Due to SE's inactivty it's part of the game, gone are the days of it being a pve game and now it's a pvp game of edating for people with questionable mental health. I just want them to have another tab, that way I don't have to use a feature (blacklist) to silence spammers and actually use them against people that are annoying or problematic, especially when it comes to eventual cross DC PF.
dumbest f'ing argument i've seen. And yes i have a chat only tab that doens't have shout in it.... guess what? I RARELY USE IT. Wanna know why? I might miss shouts on things that're actually important, or mis people looking for an FC or needing help...
Or they could create fun content that is actually engaging to players so ppl aren't doing stuff like this out of boredom just to validate their game subscription charge every month... >.>
Hot Take: The moment that gil and giveaways are involved you are no longer role playing. You are a business/community/content creator, ect. You are now incentivizing non-RPers to come to your 'venue'.
99.99% chance probably a Titanman alt
