Give DJ/ Roleplay events their own tab

I actually despise the shout ads tbf, I had to turn off shouts and yells entirely because of it, but I support venues in itself.

As for minors, what do you want them to do exactly ? This is like "naughty sites" they will push the "I am 18 years or older" button and get on the site anyway, I'm not sure what you want them to do ? Force them to give ID on the site on registration (which can also be faked) ? Like what is exactly doable here ?

The real problem lies in the frequency with which minors are knowingly allowed to participate in these things. That shouldn't be happening.

On that note, of the many reasons I stopped bothering with role play in this game the frequency in which random people would approach me completely out of nowhere expecting erotic role play was genuinely off-putting. Even after putting my foot down and declining some of them would be brazen enough to try again until I blocked them. To say nothing of the 'Mare? Mare? Mare?' spam that has become increasingly common of late since modding has seemingly become so common to the point that role players who don't do it are now a minority.

I don't expect anything to be done about it though, since such players are Square Enix's favoured target audience these days as evidenced by how much of the game's new housing items and glamour are geared towards venues.

I don’t care about PF: they have their own tab and I never look at that tab.

I wish there was something similar for the in game chat though. As soon as you step in a city at certain hours your chatbox fills non stop with people advertising venues and posting lengthy messages containing several paragraphs. Oh and gambling laws apply when real money is involved, not a fake in game currency in a fantasy world (you can’t buy gil, at least not the legit way) and there’s even the Gold Saucer.

Caring about what minors do in a video game isn't my job. That's their parents.

As for the op, don't venues essentially already have their own tab with others? I rarely see anything else in there.

I came to this game to play FFXIV and to talk about FFXIV.
Most of the time I end up in discords talking about other games instead and roleplaying. Not because I want to but because there is less interest in actual FFXIV from those I interact with.

That is not at all what I said. How did you even get that from what I said? I was implying that when I end up in discords that should be about FFXIV the game, it ends up having people mostly talk and discuss other video games or roleplaying instead as the main subjects. Because the people within the space aren't interested in talking about FFXIV despite being a community for FFXIV.

I don't check the Other tab anymore so the venues don't bother me. Now the constant shout advertisements, THAT'S annoying.

I refuse to enter Limsa because the second I do, my chat is bombarded with them.

Venues in of itself don't bother me, but my god they have more annoying hecklers than IRL salesmen.

I have a better idea. Start banning the proprietors of these clubs along with anyone who advertises them.

As a club owner, how dare you. This is so beyond uncalled for, and I refuse to be thrown under the bus because some people are not a fan of what we do.
