New island grind

So what\\'s everyone\\'s thoughts on the new island sanctuary voucher system?

I personally like the idea but similar as with fate vouchers, I wish they would let you start grinding it while lvling instead of waiting until you\\'re done. Kinda like how they did it with ishguard restoration.

I also feel like this is totally put in place as a reason for people to stay subbed. I mean it takes 29 weeks to get enough vouchers for the mount. Seems to line up pretty well with when we assume dawntrail will come out.

Unless you feel spicy and wanna try via lootboxes instead that is.

they likely just set up the timeframe so it lines up like that since they know people would be doing the new expansion, so planned, yes, to keep people subbed... I would not pin my hat on that theory

They've essentially become FFXIV's version of WoW's Garrison system. Log in, do a thing for 10m or so, leave and forget it.

This system is actually the least sweatshop possible. Once you're max ranked you literally just have to copy whatever is in demand for that week and you're done.

This thread wasn't made to talk about the games shortcomings (unless you wanna talk bad on island sanctuary).
I only said that theory on the time as a simple observation.

I'm more worried that if you don't get the rewards now, you will probably begin to miss out in Dawntrail as people start losing interest in staying up to date on the spreadsheets.

I thought of that a little later. Thought up this one.
Now it's less of a sweatshop and more of a contractor ish. Since instead of going for most profit, you just make whatever they ask you to make (this is only for the vouchers)

That's fair.
Although I can reassure you that people have made templates that stay the same week to week. It not the most efficient but that's all the spreadsheet is used for essentially. Just being optimal.
You'll still be able to do it at any time in the future. It will just take a tad longer.

No spreadsheets are needed. Just craft whatever you need to craft for the vouchers. After that, what you craft is only for cowries. You can go for max and follow recommendations for maximum cowries (useless at some point), make your own calculations or craft/not craft whatever you want.

Lol, you say that as if you need to minmax the island. I got to R20 and got every Seafarer's Cowrie rewards, by just placing random stuff into the factories. I don't even know how the spreadsheets look like.
