Baldur's Gate 3 has this option, citizen. You have my department's full support.Hear me out. Add a race after female hrothgar are added, but not a race with a gender. That way people can't complain.
Instead make them non binary and gender ambiguous.
Edit: Now that I have your attention, I want to address the issue of using LGBTQ+ topics as bait threads. I know a lot of the trolls don't really care, but we as a community can do better at not engaging with them. LGBT+ topics as troll bait threads are not appropriate, or kind to those in this fandom.
I want you to think about how it would feel if you read a topic like this, and you happened to be part of the LGBTQ+ community. Imagine your gender identity, or your sexuality being joked about like it isn't a normal thing to be. That has no place in a Square Enix game, especially not in one where the devs are openly known to support us. Not just in Creative Business Unit III, but also within the rest of the company.
When you see these threads, you should REPORT THEM, not engage with them, or continue to get them to the top of the page. Ignorance, and hatred isn't often just bred by directly insulting people, it also often treads on a fine line between parody and reality, which people who want to spread hate are aware of. Don't fall into this thinking by mistake. It's very easy to do, and I know even I have fell for posts that lure people in with this mindset.
We can do so much better than this.
Sun and moon light your way.
They're doing their part. Are you?

Remember the Titanmen
Just add a construct-type race. I want to be a Mammet of Light.
Any race member can be non-binary if you choose it to be. Being non-binary isn't a biological function and, therefore couldn't be represented on a character model and therefore has no real physical evidence of it being so. You would just end up with the average dude playing the race like it isn't. While I am all for player expression, we need to think about how it's implemented. 45-60% of people really don't care or agree with the stance that it even exists, so it doesn't really matter if Square agrees because they don't pay the subscriptions and this group of people have been shown to be highly militant when it comes to expressing their political perspective no matter how small the request is.
Due to how small the LGBT community is and how large its opposition is, you would probably end up with fewer people playing the game as they would view it as square enix bowing to a radicle left-wing American ideology and then forcing it on the rest of the world who doesn't care for more American culture war nonsense.
I agree and it was great though the only reason they got away with it was due to the game being a 10/10 and once-in-a-generation game. It's really hard to call a fully complete, playable at-launch masterpiece woke without people laughing at you. If FF really wanted to do this we would need to be back at Shadowbringer's level of popularity and Square would need to be willing to take a hit in multple regions.

Oh what i wouldn't give to go back to a time when people didn't invent all of these terms to make life more difficult and complicated for no reason...
I know right? It's ridiculous that terms like "virtue signaling", "white knighting", and "MOBA" are wasting space in people's brains.
This would be cool! A race like the pixies, maybe?
