Thread: Available Gear distribution following patch 6.5

This is not a post of anger or jealousy....just an expression of opinion. I went to Wolf's Den to look at the new gear available with the Trophy Crystals. I note that there are some nice designs there, and they might be nice to have for my characters. But I am not a big fan of the PvP content. I think it is disappointing that those kinds of designs...the Model A, B and C gears....are available there but not available to the rest of us who don't really like that content. I realize I could go do it to get the gear, and I have done in the past...Late Allagan gear....but it isn't something I want to make a habit of.
Alot of the other gear we have available in other content is really tragic...poor designs, reskins of old designs, etc. It would be nice if gear like that in PvP was available in some other manner, but it is what it is. If this post is seen by the developers, or by the boss-man Yoshi-P....I just want to express my disappointment that this is not the case.
I will at the same time express my support for all they do to give us great content, and in this patch in particular the new Alliance raid which is very entertaining, and as always the SUPERIOR SOUND AND MUSIC supplied by the sound and effects team under the direction of the GOD SOKEN-SAN. Thank you ALL !!!

Personally I find the new pvp gear ugly though I appreciate that it’s universal and not job specific. I hope they do something like that with more lore friendly options in the future.

Anyway, having gear, mounts and other items locked behind specific content isn’t new. You don’t need to do a lot of pvp to purchase that gear and contrary to some other content it is accessible to even the most casual players.

Just do your daily frontline and you're golden. Takes like 10 minutes, you need to contribute absolutely nothing of note beyond moving with the biggest ball, ez battle pass exp.

Honestly I'm SO glad you could get the xp from doing the daily frontline because I would've never gotten this gear otherwise. I try to avoid PvP like the plague but once a day won't kill me, and I'm in no hurry either.

Right, it seems that PvP is the only mode that gets this response every single time they add some kind of reward to it. I don't want to have to do crafting/gathering content to get their exclusive rewards... so I don't. I also don't see why the people who do that content shouldn't get something for their specific efforts.

Like I've never heard anyone complain that they shouldn't have to beat Bahamut in FFVIII to get him as a summon. Or that they're disappointed the Genji equipment has to be stolen from Gilgamesh in XII. You also don't get a Baseball trophy for winning a round of Checkers.

You want the stuff, you gotta do the thing.

Participate or don't. It's that simple. This gear also requires very little time or effort to get.
