I think decent gear is needed. Or at least a good combination of gear. Sure you can do all the attacks that you want but there's a limit on how much you can do on skill alone.

If your blm can't dmg Garuda hard enough you will get owned by phase after af. So yes, you need gear. Unless you get luck. If you dmg is high, you can skip phases and kill Garuda with clones alive the second time they show up.

This. Very few parties can last against two clones phases. After astral flow, the main thing is to keep high, consistent damage up so she can't and pray she doesn't use her clones.

This is to the people coming in and reading these type of post. Please ignore the post whining about gear or dps check or anything that stuff. It's just people whining cause they either aren't skilled enough or are using terrible strats. Garuda is not a dps check and it's not a gear check or anything that stuff. Basically people are just venting on the forums hoping that someone will spoon feed them better strats cause they can't figure it out themselves. I do hope SE puts in tougher fights just so i can watch these noobs come cry on the forums about it being to hard
