Frontlines is an experience that is unique in the game. For the most part, the chaos of being in an instance with 71 other players is awesome experience. I applaud it for being able to consistently queue up 72 players in less than 5 minutes.

That said, I understand that there are always going to be balance issues in such a flexible format; however, some mechanics are blatantly broken and entirely frustrating. I would hope that it would be in everyone's best interest that frontlines continues to draw new players and continues to retain current players. Telling players to leave because of broken mechanics seems short sighted.

I mentioned this in my previous post, but that comment is entirely directed to the OP with their wording on the first post. I do agree with criticisms being provided to make the game better. But when you provide the most generalized complaints about the game, and offer no fix other than "let players just skip this and get the rewards" it feels like the post has any substance. I agree with the points he made, especially the one with not being able to play with friends because I think its absolutely cringe that I can't play CC with anyone, and I have a handful of friends who would PvP in this game but won't because of that very reason. But just saying "PvP bad" and offering nothing to fix it doesn't really feel great.

As for your specific comment on FL, I agree that FL needs a lot to be fixed. I don't think that content specifically would have issues drawing in new players/keeping existing players with how rewarding it is for doing the daily roulette. There is still improvements that can be done to make it better. I've said this in other threads, but I think the problem mostly lies with Limit Breaks being too strong, so just toning down how fast you get them specifically in FLs would make them a lot more tolerable. It is the reason why they buffed up the passive damage reduction in the mode that I personally think makes the mode feel horrible to play in. Just make them have an extra long CD that you need kills or fight near objectives to actually make the CD go down or something. I know others would say to just balance out outlying jobs, but with how jobs are balanced around CC and not FL this option would be more effective imo.

Its so hard to like meaningfully state changes for PvP when you genuinely think its poor because no matter how grand, interesting, reasonable and viable your suggestions are, they just won't show up. I've only been playing since 5.1 and as far as I've heard from older PvP players here and there, its been this song and dance for an age of PvP balance and it just won't happen without a more meaningful PvP Balance Dev behind it. Frankly I have issues with PvP, have thought on it long and hard and can make my own suggestions as a vent piece and that's about it, I get to suffer PvP for a chunk of time for a really nice set of armor and basically drop it like it doesn't exist.

You are right, there are different ways they can address the issue. Just a flat out nerf probably isn't the answer. Nerfs tend to have unintended consequences and leave players feeling like creativity developing badass combos is discouraged. They should consider what is actually causing the frustration and deal with mitigating those frustrating circumstances. Combinations like DRK/AST combo can bring utter devastation but would not be as frustrating if you weren't perpetually locked. In most cases, if your team gets caught in it carelessly, you just have to accept that you're all going to die.

Instead of nerfs, I would prefer tools that more effectively counters the combo if members on a team are quick enough.

    Love complaint threads.

If the game mode isn't fun, then don't play it. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

The fact that you have made the self-imposed decision to become a collector means you will inevitably end up doing tasks that you might find monotonous or discomfort doing. That can also include the circus that you might find PvP to be, and boy do I have to tell you that you are not its conductor so enjoy the show whilst you take part in it. You are allowed to stop the madness of collecting at any moment, but don't let an internet stranger tell you what to do, because at the end of the day, you have full autonomy and life is all about the decisions you make with the options you have.

Decide what you want to do, and stay in control.

I really want to like PvP in this game but the lag that's baked into the game doesn't allow for PvP type plays. Have you ever sat down and actually watched a frontline fight? I've seen WARs try to set up kills on healers by knocking them into their team and 90% of the time the healer gets knocked back into the healer's team because on their screen they were already behind the WAR. If by some miracle SE pulls their head from their ass and fixes the baked in latency issue, then yeah I'm 100% on board with PvP.

I view the latency issues as making FL a sort of PvP variant. To some extent you can anticipate the latency in certain plays, but it's far from ideal and does make the whole experience feel like jello wrestling.

Playing casual Frontlines and CC really is a strange thing, since there's no type of skill based matchmaking to keep the experienced players out of the newbie games, and a lot of PvP players in this game can't really "turn it off" so to speak, in terms of they are always trying their 100% hardest to win at all times.
It creates a situation where coming in as a new player trying these modes out, you feel like you're just fodder and being farmed for battle high in frontlines, and in casual CC, it feels like you're constantly being rolled and spawncamped without learning a thing.

It's definitely not a fun situation but I really don't know how to correct it other than to implement some type of primitive SBMM to try to avoid this, since you aren't going to take the type of edgelord newbie stomping attitude out of the PvP players. It's something I've had issues in the past with fighting games that are eitehr underpopulated or lack SBMM as well.
You load in, get rolled, feel like you learned nothing, queue up again, get rolled, etc, and after a certain point you just get demoralized and stop queueing.

Obviously from the responses in this thread the answer is "just stop queueing", which is definitely an answer, but if SE wants people to try the mode and queue for it without it becoming another niche mode you need to sync queues for to get a match, having that type of attitude that pushes newbies out really isn't a good one to have.

PvP takes time to learn since it's so different. "Suffering" games just for glamour doesn't teach you how to get better nor do you feel incentivized to do so. It may just not be for you ?

In regards to what others say, Frontlines has had the same queue windows for years at this point. If anything they need to finally do something with RW.

You can't really make a game around stun spam and stun chaining into a fun experience, its going to feel terrible and frustrating to play.
And it doesn't matter how many small ineffective potency changes you make, the problem will always be the omnipresence of stuns, and the best counter to stuns to to stun first. Guard is too limited, Purify is too janky and hilariously specific in how it works.

Stuns are king, and they're not fun. Funny enough for how much similarities the new PVP system draws from Overwatch, it fell into the exact same pitfalls that game did that made it into a joke.
