Add a global chat to the game

They seem to have problems with too many players active in the same chat channel at the same time. Not certain what makes Novice Network different when it comes to a user limit but a few years ago we were told they were trying to increase linkshell limits to 256 but their testing servers would crash.

Remembering how trade chat from WoW would get on occasion, I'm not certain a global chat is a good idea. It's easy to think that appointing moderators would avoid most problems but players can be prone to abusing any moderation power they're given (see Novice Network on some worlds).

Is there some reason why having a social linkshell or being a member of a large and active FC won't fill the need for you?

CWL is not not big enough and not easy enough to find or get into, as for fc. covered it in the op. its not encompassing enough,most of them are dead and I cant really chat to my friends in other fcs or even really make new friends outside the fc because its hard to meet people. a global chat would fix this issue. yes mentors cant be much trusted either. but devs arent gona appoint gms to sit and watch global chat all day. just use same moderation system as NN and report problematic mentors.

NN has limits too. Wanted to turn it back on a few days ago to check if things had changed (used to be a cesspool a while ago on my server) but it was full on mentors all evening. NN can only have 100 mentors and 412 sprouts at the same time.

Wouldn't mind a global chat. The game is way too quiet. Can always hide it if I feel antisocial. But then again we can't even have chat bubbles.

chat bubbles are a horrible idea. my bf said hed straight up quit if they implimented them. the amount of screen clutter would make the game unplayable

I guess u guys didn't watch fan fest or read fan fest news? Dawntrail's bringing chat bubbles lol..... but thankfully you should be able to toggle them off.
