    The tuning for them this expansion has been terrible. Like, I have to try harder in msq dungeons terrible.

    We have an overwhelming amount of party utility skills to reduce incoming damage, not even including feint/addle. So the already low damage intake just makes things hit like a wet paper towel.

    There's no alliance specific mechanics, no party coordination, no raw difficulty.

    They came nowhere near to the right difficulty for both parties like they did with Ivalice. Challenging, but when you get the clear, it's satisfying. It feels rewarding, like you EARNED those clears. With the EW alliance raids you are lucky to see even one wipe, people would legitimately need to be people who level boosted and story skipped and/or didn't even try to learn anything in their time playing to make it remotely challenging.

    They used to serve as a solid middle ground that served as a stepping stone between normal mode and EX, but the Endwalker alliance raids so far have just been msq dungeon boss rushes with a different coat of paint. All spectacle and no substance.

    For the record, the new trial even on Normal mode is fantastically designed. It should be looked at as a golden standard for trials and raids moving forward. It's fun, it has challenge and teeth to it. It felt like I genuinely earned that win despite not dying (Tank privilege, I would have died otherwise), it somehow kept me on my toes and engaged even with the current state of DRK being a snoozefest outside of burst windows.
