Sage being called sage makes this entire prediction party entirely useless. Even if it's called green mage it might have nothing to do with any green magery in previous games.

The Ninja Turtles are Green. Shell is a Green Magic spell which the Ninja Turtles have.
Equally as good of a theory as Pictomancer is.
99.99% chance probably a Titanman alt
Or it could just be a reference to FFXIII-2 there is an adorment which is legit a lucky clover
You find it in bresha ruins -005 AF
And you get a lucky clover adorment in Lightning returns which you get from doing the youth potion quest
And they both state this one the item
"A charm to make you feel your luck has gotten better... but it really hasn't."
Its just a ff13 reference
im genuinly hoping its going to be artist. because its different and unique and i think ff needs something like it. a caster thats like the bard of dps... high energy fun and exciting. i think geomancer would just be zzzz
Artist have been used in a few games already, its also a class in lost ark, most are in gacha games or korean games
I just dont think pictomancer will be it, for all we know it could ba a range shuriken caster due to "ninjas" similar to yuffie shurikan size
Cause remember "creating a job takes alot of resources" now to make an artist work...well thats alot of design choices , cause how will it function, especially if its ranged? How would the job gauge work, how will it skills interact with itself, which when u think of it this way.....it will cost alot of resources to even get it to function as a job
Where as chemist? Canon weapon....load vials shoot vials for effects, its basically your huge gun job. Alot of people still want the old mach reload mechanic back....guess what reuse it for chemist but instead you load special ammo instead to shoot....bam sorted job mechanic....when you start to think chemist as a vial shooting maniac it actually makes sense and is really easy to design as a dps
So when "thinking" how a job should be designed....chemist is much easyier to design over an artist....cause its a character with a big ass gun....where an artist is a brush? That might throw ink? Might be melee? Might be complex to understand? Will majority of the playerbase be able to understand what it does? Will i draw pictures which attack for me? Will i make pets(which wouldnt work cause smn already got theirs butchered), will it have a weird ink gauge to monitor which you have to fill up to do what? Bigger splashes?...will it do some seal stuff with its ink??...where does its magic come from and how will it fit in the ffxiv world.....it just sounds like a headach to design from legit nothing....well except for relm as a reference but thats it
Chemist? Load shoot, blow stuff up in chemical explosions....yup everyone understands explosions

Eh, shell has also been a white magic spell, and it's physical counterpart protect has been a white magic spell in this game before. Honestly if they have a Green Mage that is support focused I would really enjoy that since I like playing support roles but healing isn't really all that satisfying here.
And here I thought it was Puppetmaster.
...because of that line about how much easier it would be to clean and sort the stock room if she had mammets to do it for her.
Could be either. I've been on team GEO for a few expansions. But also GRM.
I think GRM is something people are thinking because (a) AST quests suggest that GEO is a similar thing to ASTs, (b) GEOs in game used WHM 1-handed wands and cast CNJ spells, (c) CNJ/WHM (prior to ShB) have elemental magics which GEOs would probably use, (d) that the SMN rework removed the most DoT oriented Job in the game, and in theory it could have been done to free all those interactions and mechanics up for a DoT focused Job, which GRM would, in theory, be. Also, TMNT are green (turtles).
I don't know that anyone's "sure" of it, though. I was thinking Pictomancer was the generally believed "new caster Job", though. Personally, I don't see it, mostly because it might need some pretty new mechanics (contrast RPR and SGE which basically did what existing Jobs did, RPR following the pattern of various upkeep buff builder/spender play that a lot of Jobs use, and SGE mugging SCH and stealing its homework for the prior 2 years), or if not, just be an existing caster with different visuals (which isn't really what Pictomancer was, but then...SGE isn't really true to its "advanced magic Red Mage that forgot how to melee" roots, either). I just feel like at that point they'd just go Puppetmaster or something.
Geomancer is the safest choice, since it could just be a Nature elements (Earth, Wind, Water) Black Mage or an inversion of the RDM where it does melee stuff to build up to a big cast sequence, though RDM kind of already does that (it builds with casts, but then does melee to build to its big spells) as does PLD in the Tank role (Confetti Swords combo).
Green Mage is the second safest and, perhaps even more no brainer choice if they've gotten over their abject aversion to DoTs (which they're supposedly averse to yet slap a new DoT or upkeep debuff - or two - on every new Job they introduce... <_< )
My guest it's for Beastmaster the TMNT shirt. The last name of one that helped create TMNT is Eastman.
I hope it’s a nature based Green mage instead of a debuff job. I like animal pet classes too. They did rework summoner and took nature away from whm at higher levels. Maybe it’s a combination of the two. I’ve heard Yoshi P doesn’t like pet jobs though. In no way does that clover represent the pictomancer or time mage. If the hint is job related, then those two jobs are probably not it.
I honestly doubt they will replicate the Green Mages from other FF titles they appear here, because the idea doesn't really fit their cemented dps/encounter design.
What I think it will happen is literally the same thing it happened with Sage: they'll appropriate the name, and maybe visual aesthetics, given the color and the clover symbol, but give them a completely new twist. I even bet my gil that Green Mage could even be XIV's answer to the classical RPG 'druid archetype' as in spellcaster that commands plants and animals (note: even though CNJ is connected to nature, I don't really think they fall into that specific fantasy).
From the cutscene, the clover earring literally screams 'job icon' to me.
Regardless, I hope that this time they show kind of a journey with Krile and these new powers, because it was barely there for Alphinaud transitioning to Sage, which was a change we actually got to see 'live' - but suddenly, he was already very competent as the new job. I remember only one moment showing him practicing with the nouliths, and it was kind of a backdrop.
