We even have NA players on EU and EU on NA, people who have problems with Time-Zones, and cant play during prime time.My dude, you do realize NA and EU servers are mirrors, right? I've played on both sides of the pond, and the only difference I've noticed between the two is the lack of random people shouting in French. The EU even has its own version of Balmung to serve as a prison for the degenerates, although it does seem like they escape more often.
people, who want to scream "speak English" on JP Datacenter already can do this, it's not Korea servers. All of the data centers within a region are in the same physical location. Aether, Primal, Crystal, and Dynamis are all within a few thousand feet of each other. That's the primary physical limitation.
The primary limitation beyond that is Japanese players don't want to play with people who don't speak Japanese, and some of them don't want to play with non Japanese people regardless of whether or not there's a language barrier. Picture the American redneck screaming "speak English" and multiply that by ten.
That requires a whole lot more effort though, since you would need to create a brand new character, pay a bunch of money to either skip it up to EW or spend a long time slogging through the MSQ.
Whereas if they just implemented Cross region travel, the amount of effort someone would need to create chaos would be infinitely less, since it would take all of 2mins to go travel with their already pre-established main.
Effort required is in fact a powerful factor in whether someone will do something.
Yeah and know what else is required to cause trouble in *itself*? Effort. If someone wants to go stir up trouble they have all the means at their disposal already, including skips. That requires a whole lot more effort though, since you would need to create a brand new character, pay a bunch of money to either skip it up to EW or spend a long time slogging through the MSQ.

Yet somehow the servers haven't burned to the ground without region locking, nobody is at it despite all the "2 mins" it takes to get a skip, goto a high level area and do whatever they are so scared of.
There is absolutely no reasonable excuse to stop people (Mostly EU/NA) playing where they like, there is nothing being protected, it's just holding people back from enjoying themselves a bit more.
Bro.. I hate to break it to you, but the EU and NA DCs already have so much crossover, hell im pretty sure the vast majority of Irish and UK players play on NA and EU lol.
If it was just NA and EU that cross region switch woulda been flicked very quickly.
