How has every other major MMO solved the problem of downtime other than FF14?

Why is it that only FF14, among the major MMOs, require an entire day just to get a new patch in for maintenance?

Oh look, another complaint thread from someone who claims they quit. If you quit, why do you care about downtime? And other MMOs have long downtime too.
