Other MMOs also do more frequent downtime than FF14 as well, so that is something to think about. We don't have weekly maintenance or anything and only really see downtime for major patches or fixing issues that pop up infrequently
the troll is strong in this one as every mmo has this problem but sure go on.
You know very well they do not and that maintenance normally lasts a few hours or less like other MMOs. This one is 24 hours due to infrastructure maintenance.
The only reason other MMOs might not need infrastructure maintenance is due to using cloud servers.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

didnt you say the game was dying earlier and that all the devs were leaving ? how come you're still here if the game is fully dead ?
So that you can have something to write/complain about![]()

Final Fantasy XIV has a LOT of issues, but I think the community is growing to be its biggest. This kind of attitude is legitimately a turn-off for some people. The maintenance isn't nearly as bad as this sad display. If I was a new player, I would look past the maintenance, but I wouldn't look past this.
Since you're an honest person, have you reported this issue to Square Enix customer service? You can report RMT at the following link. You're an honest person, so you wouldn't make false allegations or reports against someone just because you didn't like him. Right?

How does this pertain to Final Fantasy XIV?
If his argument is incorrect, why are you attacking the person instead of the argument? Is his argument just too strong for you to counter?
FFXIV does have long downtimes, but it's not its largest problem and is easily forgotten about. But it still is a problem because of the game's tech debt, which does exist. If you disagree with me, then you're also disagreeing with Yoshi-P who is clearly trying to fix an issue that you don't think exists.

I'm fully aware you're sarcastic all the time but Gaius literally admits himself that he "takes advantage of FFXIV players" and that he doesnt pay for his sub, feel free to look up for his posts on his new alt.Final Fantasy XIV has a LOT of issues, but I think the community is growing to be its biggest. So for this one time, I have to disagree.
(1) Ad hominem attacks are not a discussion of Final Fantasy XIV.
(2) You may report the offending player at your leisure, but I will not do it on your behalf.
(3) What does this have to do with discussion of maintenance times?
