aw thanks! I sort of worry about the mental health of some of the people here sometimes, but the best I can do it talk about my passions ^^
Ffxiv is game that encourages you to create your character. I sort of suspect the reason they don't put too much stock into the WoL's personality (at least no more than necessary to have responses) is because they don't want to draw assumptions too much. Well, that and I enjoy sitting and listening to what people think up for their characters even if I sometimes run out things to say myself! :3
I hold this game super dearly even with all of its flaws- it is still by far one of the best games I have played to date. I love my character so so much... so it warms my heart to hear the love people have for their character(s) even if it is more subtle.

My favorite minion is the campfire.

I remember seeing it sit and thought to move while it was on my shoulder. I love the small detail that like a real butterfly, sudden movement startles it

Windup Nanamo. It's adorable how she climbs up you to sit on your shoulder. I am fond of all the shoulder sitting minions in general.

I did not know that minion could do that! Then again, I don't think I've summoned it before. When I get one, I should definitely try to find a way to have it do that :3

Managed to obtain Wind-up Golbez from the new Dungeon - and I love having him charging along behind me.... or standing somewhat mini-menacingly infront of me...

When you finally get it, just use /beckon on it to force the climb animation. It works with many other minions as well like Nutkins, Red Panda, Wind-up Succubus, etc.


My personal fav has been the Road Sparrow. I often wear the [Replica] Sky Pirates Cap of Healing/Casting and having it come chill on my head (lala) helps me feel closer to being a Sky Pirate, plus its adorable!

Then again, most minions that chill on your head as a lala are..

I have tried using /beckon on some minions but so far I haven't had much success. Maybe I am doing it on the wrong minions or am missing a requirement

Maybe not my absolute favorite, but my WoL uses the name Squirrel as a nod to an ancient forum handle. And one of the first minions I got back when I hadn't finished ARR was a nutkin drop from a PotD coffer. It was one of the first minions that would crawl up to sit on my shoulder, it fit my theme, and it was adorable and had a cute idle animation. Even if nowadays I cycle through favorite NPC minions like Ysayle, FSH related minions (It took close to 200 attempts to get that bucket so it's my companion during Legendary Fish grinds), and other cute animal minions like the Siamese cat and Silkie, the nutkin was the first.

Anima. Not Wind-up Anima, mind. The little fairy-like puppet your Anima Weapon's soul can possess. After everything you go through to get it to its finished state, the thing is practically a kid. Your kid. Seems almost cruel to have it rot at the bottom of the armory chest.

all of these are good choices. I love the cat minions in this game- they are very cute. Took a look at the bucket minion and I cannot help but wonder how that fish survives- very small area for a goldfish. Then again, the description implies that fish is temporary so I can assume every time it is summoned a new goldfish is inside it. I kind of want it. Maybe next time I fish I'll go for it.

I typed out an initial response but decided to look up the anima minion. Was kind of wondering what that was when I saw screenshots of it. Super cute! Might one day go for a relic weapon or two
