Island Sanctuary is the perfect place to have a house that is instanced.
Just give us an option to place one of any size on a plot like the Landmarks, which you can now rotate!
I do not care to have a Personal house that is not instanced.

I've discontinued it. Got one of every animal, constructed all the useless buildings, leveled up to 12 (or whatever the max was), and haven't been back in months, since maintaining it had become a chore with no significant rewards.
There's the steampunk costume rewarded for completing the third stage and another beach tourist outfit to buy at rank 16, plus whatever we're getting this time.
But yes, certainly there's no benefit to keep going with it once you've got the rewards you want. Other than having to drag some alts through it eventually, once I hit maximum rank and get whatever glamour I want from it, I'll have no reason to go there again besides occasionally purchasing dyes, and I will be very glad to be rid of it.
This is bad! SE needs to continue Sanctuary Island in 7.0.., for many, who don't have housing, its a great alternative..
... besides adding some new areas, rewards & ideas to Sanctuary Island shouldnt be too much of a hassle.., and would be a great pitty if it became dead content!!
... and its just relaxing, going back there (nice music & vacation / breach / jungle feeling), while searching for new animals to catch and roam the area peacefully

I would have liked a house with an interior on the Island. Exterior decos were nice though and I quite like my place but it is lacking utility (no near MB, no retainers, no fc chest, no vendors, no mailbox). As for leveling it, it's really not a big deal. After you have access to a workshop, it pretty much levels itself if you have patience. Just let the workshops get the XP for you. It really doesn't matter what you craft unless you want to accumulate insane amounts of a currency that soon becomes useless (maybe not that useless if they update the list of materia when Dawntrail comes out but I doubt it as markets would be flooded).
I'm pretty sure they said there will be a new lifestyle content to replace it. Instead of more Island Sanctuary we'll probably get 'New-World Homestead' or something and it'll be covered in mammets and probably just be the exact same thing with a different coat of paint.
Not really. A smart business move would be to add a bit to the subscription itself. Want instanced housing then pay $3 extra per month.Because if they allowed instanced housing on the island, the money from subs due to forty five day log in or house go boom would drop to absolute zero and people could cancel their subs without fear of losing anything. Yoshi does not respect anyone's time except his own. As if IS was going to have housing.
Like that increase alone could go towards maintenance of the instanced housing server or servers itself. I don't think any player would have n issue with a few dollar raise in monthly sub just for instanced housing ya know
Sure, if you want a house that's simply a preset meld with minimum amount of furniture and zero customization.
I don't think people truly understand how impressive the level of customization SE allowed in housing. I had played other MMO and none really come close. Hell, I dare say FF14 housing level of customization is far beyond even most mainstream singleplay game with that as a features. In most game, you have specific spot or at least a grid where specific furniture can go to, and the furniture only allow certain orientation. FF14 allows EVERYTHING to be free floating. That is why you see so many amazing house project, and "designers house" is a thing. But you pay for that with probably a copious amount of data to save, and not an efficient way to save them either.
As long as the system remain as it is, I seriously doubt SE can ever effort the level of accessibility the players crave for, instance or not. Housing in 2.0 is a similar story to the 1.0 flower pot. In hindsight I bet SE deeply regret setting it up this way. If they ever make another MMO with housing, it'll probably be more accessible but I seriously doubt it'll have the current level of customization.

I can't believe this hasn't happened. SE outside of 14 has a very heavy micro transaction hand. The could increase the number of items from a large and call it premium housing. Or give it some sort of extra item storage like FC chests. And truthfully they know the players or a decent minority will defend it like 30+ mounts. "It's optional" or "They have to pay bills" or "They need to make money"
I saw some data mining that showed housing on the island. So they could have been testing some things but it never panned out. Or islands are like squadrons, something to test a theory but not the end goal.
se very much likes to take its time with implementing and getting things added in and with IS we have seen a lot of tests to make instance housing a thing with added features like adding minions to housing in general or adding in door furnishing outside. we also have to wait for SE to get servers that can handle lots of players having instance housing which take up instance space which will be alleviated when we start the cloud server testing. so while we wont get it here we will definitely see it in the future. even if its not for years down the line.
