Macros

I haven't played FF for 2 years but have recently returned. Before leaving the game i saved the game settings folder to the my Google drive just in case i decided to return at a later date.
After reinstalling the game i copied my setting folder over the folder created during installation in Documents/My Games only to find that none of my settings or macros were restored.
I feel as if i'm missing something obvious here as i have done this successfully before after a full Windows reinstall.
Any ideas?
