i mean, you could just do the roulette on another job. or is there a point in reaching lvl 90 through roulette during hw-msq?

I pulled a friend through them when he finished ARR, because if you finished Binding Coils before Heavensward, you got special dialogue with Alisaie when she finally shows up in HW. He was grateful I did this, because outside of introducing him to Alisaie before HW, it tied up a ton of questions he had in regards to the Calamity, Bahamut, and Louiswax. (I probably spelt that wrong.) And now, even he asks why Binding Coils aren't mandatory like CT is.True! I ran them unsynced with my FC mates just for the story, because no one was running them when I started in Stormblood. lol probably a large chunk of why Alisaie is one of my favorite characters too.
I’m sure it’ll probably just be some sort of extra conversation with Ryne, unless they’re going to have Ryne give a synopsis of the events of the raid to players who didn’t run it, which seems unlikely…
Another thing that irks me with the current story is that, to my knowledge they have not ONCE made reference back to the Shadows of Mhach raids, despite those raids dealing a ton with not just voidsent, but HIGH LEVEL voidsent (Including a Voidsent QUEEN!) and a ship that doubles as a massive Voidsent prison. Gee...I wonder what we could do with a massive Voidsent prison...hmmm, hmmm...(Even if the Void Ark crashed, we could still salvage stuff from it to help with our current situation. But it's far too late to link back to it now...)
Because not everyone is going to want to do everything?
Listen, I personally agree with you because this game is story focused on every piece of content that I would like for parts of it to fit in msq. But thats not how people are going to take this game's content. In fact people who play casually will soon find story interrupts for nearly everything if they decide to focus on msq because the game will force them to go back and finish or continue a piece of content in order to progress. Itll break the pace of their playthroughs.
Thats not good MMO design and thats the issue here. Im not a dumb idiot thinking that my personal want is going to be good for the game, its downright terrible to force every player to go through every piece of content.
You are advocating for taking away player choice and thats bad, so Im sorry but you are horribly 100% wrong with this take.
there is one npc talking about scathach, optional on zeros island.... but yeah its a missed opportunity.
they could use that stuff from side content but giving plaxers a warning they might miss context if thex havent done this or that questline. leaving it to the players if they wanna do it

The best they should do is to at least acknowledge some of the important side content is certain cutscenes rather than having to force more players to do side content for the meat and potatoes of this game which is the msq.
Honestly, as much as I loathe that dumb factory, I'd rather they keep updating it than dropping it entirely and do "Island Sanctuary 2.0." It just.... I don't know, feels like it's a waste of time and resources.
Nothing wrong with their progression, ask anyone who plays on Dynamis, you sneeze, and you go up 5 levels. If you are doing the HW msq at level 82 something is very very wrong with your progression lol.
Make friends. It's a social game right? Friends are usually willing to help with gearing. Or people in novice network. Old gear is easy to make and takes little time.
Honestly everything that's a duty should be locked into the MSQ somehow... so only basic side quests and quests that only give items wouldn't be required..
It would bring more blood and attention to these quests.. especially as some are easy to miss if your new.. it would also double down on making sure everyone has everything unlocked and keep the roulettes full with all options not just cherry picked ones like some players do
It's not always about experience. I've been taking my time on my Dynamis alt and I worked on my ARR DRG relic by queueing for AR on the light step while I was doing MSQ on another class since all I had was CT unlocked. You have to queue with the class to get the update and you have to have the weapon equipped. But if a Road to 80 character did have a reason to want to run their daily roulettes, they could potentially be blocked from this one for something outside their control. It's definitely something I'm going to test on my alt.
This is when I get my hats...right?
