They also can't do 5/6/7/8 roulettes, expert or 90 roulettes even though they might be max or an appropriate level. Duty Roulettes are not solely for the purpose of levelling other jobs but to help fill in the roster for players completing these things for the first time by incentivizing other players to run them again. It is also a tool for gathering tomes when you are max level and have completed MSQ.

This argument doesn't make sense. They can't run expert or 90 roulettes because they don't have the CONTENT in that roulette. They COULD run 5/6/7/8 roulette, because they have some of the content in it unlocked, and would be put into a dungeon from the ones they have unlocked.

The new alliance roulette system looks like it will prevent them from doing a roulette containing content they have unlocked because... they levelled up too much? That's completely ridiculous, and expecting them to buy crafted gear good enough for content they don't have access to is also crazy. Unless it also checks your MSQ process then it's an imperfect solution that creates a very obvious problem for a lot of players.

Getting upset before we know how it works is dumb. It's 99% likely it'll work the same way 50/60/70/80 does, just with the added caveat of requiring the min ilvl of the highest unlocked raid you have.

All we have to go off is what it says in the patch notes - "Item level restrictions based on class or job level at the time of duty registration will now be applied for Duty Roulette: Alliance Raids." and a list of level ranges and their associated minimum item level.

It would be lovely if it did only take into account ranges which apply to the raids you have unlocked, but there's nothing in the patch notes suggesting that, so I don't think it's a safe assumption. If it was based on a minimum ilvl for roulettes which you could queue into manually on a given job they could simply have said that, instead they exclusively talked about your current level.

even if you had said content unlock that doesn't stop you from getting the augmented gear that is available after unlocking said alliance raids if you are over level from HW, StB, or ShB. besides its ilevel locked ot its respected raid for example in CT it will locked to either ilvl 70, 80, 90 but also its easy to point out the big change and forget that the rewards have been increased depending on the alliance raid. so harder upper-level alliance raids in theory should give you better returns on your on time invested.

On the contrary, there is no reason to keep levelling your single job far beyond MSQ level unless you plan to never play a second job.

The alleged better armoury bonus is a myth (you simply get the same bonus rate for any job below your highest), and the only other potential benefit would be earning endgame tomes from roulettes and Khloe, but even that is only going to give value for a few weeks before you have a full wallet of tomes and nothing to spend it on until you reach endgame to unlock the vendor.

Additionally, quests and dungeons give a good chunk of EXP if you're doing them close to your job level, but relatively worthless if you're far overlevelled.

It's a much better idea to get a second class started and run roulettes with that.
