    [Suggestion] New Job+

In FFXIV, a player can unlock every available job on one character. That being said, once every job has been leveled to the max, 'that's it'.

I'd like to suggest a system to level a job all over again. Allow me to list a few benefits:
    • It'll be an evergreen system
    • The system will be completely optional
    • Players engaging in New Job+ will run (lower level) duties, this helps newcomers and roulette players
    • New Job+ players may make use the market board for materials and/or gear pieces, stimulating the in-game economy
    • Tomestones of Poetics will have a use again for players who have long since had no use for them
    • Players won't be forced to make an alt character to level jobs again
    • This system should not affect available level boosts for jobs. These will remain a viable option for players who wish to make use of them
For this system, I wish to voice several wishes and solutions for practical elements:
    • Just like New Game+, this system should have a 'pause' option
    • Once New Job+' progress matches the maximum level of that job, it'll conclude
    • New Job+ could unlock at L50 for ARR and HW jobs. For jobs added in Stormblood and later, New Job+ could unlock when completing their job quest chains
    • Job quests should be part of New Job+. They should not give material rewards, but unlocking abilities should remain a part of job quests
    • Role quests should be part of New Job+. Material rewards are not necessary, but they could still serve to unlock job 'artifact gear' at the relevant NPC's
    • For ARR jobs, resetting the relevant Hunting Log entries would be a nice
    • Being able to select a 'start level' is recommended, such as: level 1, 30, 50, 60, 70(, soon 80)
    • Some jobs start at a higher level, such as 30, 50, 60 and 70. I recommend using the stat scaling system that exists on Earrings such as Menphina's Earring and apply it to the current 'starter' weapons for these jobs. They would scale up to their original level requirement, since upgrades will become available from that point on
    • FATEs, dungeons, guildhests, trials, raids and deep dungeons should be accessible with New Job+. Field Operations could be included.
    • Providing armour pieces when starting New Job+ is optional, but I believe that players can source those easily enough. I'd advice against using a stat scaling system for armour pieces
Let me know if I missed anything!

I personally love gearing up and leveling my classes and jobs in games. I fully acknowledge that not everyone is of the same mind. I hope that the points I've made will help convey that there are only benefits regardless of which side of the fence you're on <3

I'm curious about the point of this? If you just want to spam lower level dungeons or FATE, there's nothing stopping you from doing that now. If you're wanting to do your job quests over, you're already able to. I don't think it's likely that anyone leveling a job will use the market board, when all leveling dungeons now have level relevant armor. And if the goal is to simply level up a job, tomes sets wouldn't be of use very long, as quickly as we level up. So what exactly is it that you're proposing from this that would be worth the development time over our currently existing options? Being able to turn it off willy nilly seems no different than just intentionally doing lower level content.

It's not about doing content for the sake of doing it. For me, it's about the feeling of progression. At max level, there is barely any progression anymore. The only thing that you'll see is the update in gear level every 4 months with a new patch.
If progression didn't matter to players, then a leveling system would not exist. Increased power level items would not exist. PVP ranks would not exist. I just enjoy leveling up in RPG's, that's why I play them.

If that's a feeling that you cannot directly relate to, then I would ask you to consider which parts of the game offer progression to you that feel good to you. Whatever form that takes may differ between players, but ultimately it's about the same feeling.

Alts do not get access to:
    - the completed MSQ on your main
    - store-bought, single character emotes on your main
    - store-bought, single character glamour on your main
    - store-bought, single character mounts on your main
    - your main's friend list
    - your main's housing estates (if applicable)
    - your main's retainers
    - you cannot exchange items between your characters, unless you ask a friend or use the FC chest

Please elaborate why you dismiss it so readily, despite you suffering no downsides from its existence?

Although the use of alts "exists" they want you to do everything on one character. If you want to do it all over again the "prescribed" method is to create an alt and suffer without access to your main's stuffs.

Sounds good for an ARPG, doens't work well with a MMORPG.

However, i agree that we need something more for our jobs. They could have add one or two skills based on our deity for example.

What I see is "overworld level synch".

thats not a bad ideal, SWTOR does this, when on any planet you are synced to whatever the highest level of the planet is unless you are below that...

in FFXIV this would make for a more challenging BLU mage, and bring back old school hunt trains, it would make for a lot more communication and need to cooperate in open world making for a more social game, something FFXIV is lacking heavily in outside of housing wards.

Tbh I think it could be fun too potentially.
