    Blue Mage Zonureskin Treasure Maps

Post for level 70 Gazelleskin Maps can be found here

Just finished my achievements for the level 80 Zonureskin Maps solo on Blue Mage, here's what my setup was:

    My Spellset

    Status Spells
    [12] Bristle
    [30] Mighty Guard (Always on)
[77] Aetheric Mimicry (Find a healer, use before you begin)

    Healer Stuff
    [58] Pom Cure
    [59] Gobskin
[73] Exuviation (Very few status afflictions in here, but have it anyway)
[88] Angel's Snack (Only used inside dungeon, my macro swaps it out with Ultravibration)

    Single Targets
    [75] Devour (Use with Bristle)
    [105] Goblin Punch (Basic attack)

    AoE Spells
    [28] Bad Breath
[47] Shock Strike (Or [46] Mountain Buster, they're the same thing)
[49] Veil of the Whorl (Or [48] Glass Dance for AoE damage instead of counter attacks)
    [78] Surpanakha
[80] J Kick (Or [79] Quasar, same thing without the gap closer)
    [103] Phantom Flurry
    [104] Nightbloom
[109] Breath Of Magic (Use with Bristle)
    [122] Sea Shanty
    [124] Being Mortal
[45] Eruption (Or [44] Feather Rain, they're the same thing) on a macro to avoid having to ground target:
    Code:
    /micon Eruption blueaction
    /blueaction Eruption <t>
    Outside the dungeons
    [33] The Ram's Voice
    [35] Missile
    [92] Ultravibration
    [115] Dimensional Shift

    Inside the dungeons
[53] Electrogenesis or [93] Blaze or [94] Mustard Bomb (Ranged AoE, they're all the same)
    [63] Sonic Boom (Ranged attack)
[91] Basic Instinct (Use as soon as you enter each dungeon, I have its cast as part of spell shift macro)
    [121] Mortal Flame

(Perpetual Ray is fully resisted in The Shifting Oubliettes, unlike it was in the level 70 Shifting Circles)

    Spell Changing Macros

You can't swap out a spell that's still on timer or in use (ie your status spells) and that prevents you from doing a nice and easy set swap going in and out of the dungeons, so I macro my swaps.

Make sure everything lights up, sometimes they glitch and skip a spell.

These macros for for the XHotbars that I use. The number is the Xbar number, then R or L for right or left side, A or D for ABXY or D-Pad, U D L R for Up Down Left Right

    Outside
    Code:
    /bluespellbook set "Sonic Boom" off
    /bluespellbook set "Basic Instinct" off
    /bluespellbook set "Electrogenesis" off
    /bluespellbook set "Mortal Flame" off
    /crosshotbar blueaction "Missile" 1 RAU
/crosshotbar blueaction "Dimensional Shift" 2 RAR
    /crosshotbar blueaction "the Ram's Voice" 2 RAD
    /crosshotbar blueaction "Ultravibration" 1 RDD <wait.1>
    /bluespellbook set "Missile" on
    /bluespellbook set "Dimensional Shift" on
/bluespellbook set "the Ram's Voice" on
    /bluespellbook set "Ultravibration" on
    Dungeons
    Code:
    /bluespellbook set "Missile" off
    /bluespellbook set "Dimensional Shift" off
/bluespellbook set "the Ram's Voice" off
    /bluespellbook set "Ultravibration" off
/crosshotbar blueaction "Sonic Boom" 1 RAU
/crosshotbar blueaction "Basic Instinct" 2 RAR
    /crosshotbar blueaction "Electrogenesis" 2 RAD
    /crosshotbar blueaction "Angel's Snack" 1 RDD <wait.1>
    /bluespellbook set "Sonic Boom" on
    /bluespellbook set "Basic Instinct" on
    /bluespellbook set "Electrogenesis" on
/bluespellbook set "Mortal Flame" on <wait.1>
    /blueaction "Basic Instinct"
Toad Oil last 180 seconds, use this macro to use it before opening a chest in the dungeon, or spinning the wheel in the circle, without using up an extra slot:
    Code:
    /micon "Toad Oil" blueaction
    /bluespellbook set "Devour" off
    /bluespellbook set "Toad Oil" on
    /blueaction "Toad Oil" <wait.3>
    /bluespellbook set "Toad Oil" off
    /bluespellbook set "Devour" on

    Food
You won't get the max HP boost from any level 90 food in the dungeons, so go for the highest ilvl food that looks good and you're willing to afford (Honeyed Dragonfruit is my pick)

    Gear
The level 80 dungeons are synched to i505, use the highest ilvl gear you have to get the most out of your secondary stats

    Open World Fight
Stand on the south side of the chest (except for the one just north of Mord Souq in Amh Araeng at 27.6x 12.8y 0.8z, stand on the east side of it)
    The first mobs will pop around 10 o'clock, the 2nd around 12 o'clock, and the 3rd around 2 o'clock
There are 3 different mob patterns, Gobskin > Bristle before opening the chest
    • 4 mobs at once
      If Ultravibration is ready:
Run into the middle, The Ram's Voice > Ultravibration
      If Ultravibration isn't up:
      Dimensional Shift > Breath Of Magic > weave Nightbloom > The Ram's Voice > Dimensional Shift > Dimensional Shift > Bad Breath > Swiftcast > Dimensional Shift > Sea Shanty/Being Mortal/Eruption/J Kick/Shock Strike > The Ram's Voice > Phantom Flurry > Surpanakha
    • 1 big mob, adds at 80%, adds at 40%
      If Ultravibration is ready:
Run out to 2 o'clock to drag big guy there, spam Missile until you hit him once, then Exuviation, then missle until a 2nd one lands. If you miss a lot use an early The Ram's Voice on boss and first wave. After 2nd wave spawns The Ram's Voice > Ultravibration
      If Ultravibration isn't up:
Run out to 2 o'clock to drag big guy there, spam Missile until you hit him once, then Exuviation, then missle until a 2nd one lands. Breath Of Magic > weave Nightbloom > The Ram's Voice > Dimensional Shift > Dimensional Shift > Bad Breath > Swiftcast > Dimensional Shift > Sea Shanty/Being Mortal/Eruption/J Kick/Shock Strike > there should only be the 3rd wave left, at around 20% HP, finish them with Missiles/Gobpunches
    • 3 mobs, then 3 mobs, then 3 mobs. Each trio will have 2 of a kind and a different guy, the different guy has more HP so target him
Ultravibration will be up for at least one of the 3 packs, in Lakeland I save it for the 3rd wave, in Amh Araeng I use it on the 2nd pack (both have annoying knockback)
      The 3 rotations I use:
      1. The Ram's Voice > Bristle > Ultravibration
      2. Dimensional Shift > Breath Of Magic > Missile different guy > The Ram's Voice > Dimensional Shift > Dimensional Shift >
(if Missile missed, Bad Breath > Missile different guy til it hits)
        The Ram's Voice > Sea Shanty/Being Mortal > Bristle > Eruption/J Kick/Shock Strike
      3. Dimensional Shift > Breath Of Magic > Missile > The Ram's Voice > Dimensional Shift > Dimensional Shift >
(if Missile missed, Bad Breath > Missile different guy til it hits)
The Ram's Voice > Phantom Flurry > Surpanakha

There's about a 50% chance of a portal opening, which will take you to either the Dungeons (~30%) or Shifting Oubliettes (~70%)

    Dungeons
    • Use Basic Instinct first thing (or have it set to go off as part of your spell change macro)
    • Optional adds can drop at any time, they can be Big Hairy(s) and/or Runner(s), or Numbered Mandragora
    • Runners will stand around until you hit them, then run back and forth, never attacking you, then vanish a set time after the pop. Their loot bag is shards/cluster and gil
    • Big Hairys will stand there until you hit them, if you leave them alone they despawn, if you attack them they won't vanish. They hit hard and have an annoying suck-in move that can pull you into the boss's AoE. The loot is only junk materia, avoid AoE around them
    • Numbered Mandragora will ignore you if you ignore them, otherwise they run around and have sleep AoE. If you kill them in order they drop gil and Poetics. They have a lot of HP and are on a timer, I just avoid them
    • If a rainbow path to a door shows up after you open a chest, choose that door, it's 100% success
    • Bad Breath doesn't inflict heavy/paralysis/interrupt, but does all the other stuff
    • Bristle > Gobskin before opening the chest

    1st Chamber
    • A pack spawns at the circle north of the chest
    • After all the first wave are dead, a pack spawns in the circle to the east of the chest
    • After all the second wave are dead, a pack spawns in the circle to the west of the chest
    • They're nothing to worry about here, Breath of Magic and Bad Breath and take them out

    2nd Chamber
    • One Biggie spawn in the north circle
    • At 70% Biggie health a small group spawns in the east circle
    • At 30% Biggie health a larger group spawns in the west circle
    • Biggie hits hard, the others have little HP, this one is pretty easy too

    3rd Chamber
    • Two Biggies spawn in the north circle
    • Each Biggie will spawn adds at 50% HP, one on east circle one on west (west can spawn before east)
    • Easy Mode: Fight one Biggie to 50% and kill its adds, then kill it, then do the same with the other
    • Hard Mode: Breath of Magic and get them both to 50% at the same time, Angel's Snack > AoE everything

    4th Chamber
    • One Biggie and two smaller mobs spawn on the north circle
    • When the first of the trio dies, a pack spawns on the east circle, when the 2nd of the original trio dies, another pack spawns on the west circle
    • Easy Mode: Kill the Biggie first and deal with the first pack, then kill the rest
    • Hard Mode: Breath of Magic the first 3 and have it out with the Biggie. The other two will die first and spawn both packs, Angel's Snack and AoE

    5th Chamber
    • Boss is either gilded creepy baby doll or gilded Talos
    • Both have a tankbuster, adds spawn at 50% for the Talos (maybe sooner for creepy doll)
    • Keep yourself healed, save AoE for adds, it's a fairly easy fight

    Shifting Oubliettes (Roulette Wheel)
    • Use Basic Instinct first thing (or have it set to go off as part of your spell change macro)
    • Optional adds are much more common, and in much larger packs. Same rules apply as above
    • Spin the wheel, there are 6 different types of circles it can land on
    • Toad Oil cheater macro before the spin, but no point in using any other buff; the animation takes 35 seconds or so, and boss aggros you right away after spawning

    Magenta - Atamos
    • Sucks you in and spits you out of the dungeon
    • Can be zapped by lightning and his circle flips over to White/Blue/Green/Red/Gold (always zapped if it's the first roll)

    White - Abomination
    • Little fuath/frog dude comes out and says hi, then leaves and you get a chest with a rare and very expensive minion in it (or a crappy little Goobue lamp)
    • It almost never lands on White

    Blue - Lesser Summon
    • They're annoying and have a ton of HP, you're looking at a 2-3 minute fight, reapply Bristle > Breath of Magic as it wears off
    • Most have mandatory adds that aggro you

    Green - Greater Summon
    • Not much different from lesser, except most don't have mandatory adds

    Red - Elder Summon
    • Gil, optional adds (more gil) and a chance at Enchanted Elm Lumber
    • Mandragora
      • Has a tankbuster that he first uses about 8 seconds into the fight, be at full health/Gobskin and ready to cure when he uses it
      • At around 80% HP he summons numbered Mandragora and mandatory Mandragora, I avoid the numbered and AoE down the mandatory
    • Fancy Fuath/Frog
      • No tankbuster in the first phase
      • At around 80% 4 small runner frogs pop and boss spams plus-sign attack until they all despawn/die
      • Bristle > Breath of Magic one add + Boss > Bristle > Swiftcast > Run to 2nd add and Breath of Magic, then hopefully the two remaining adds are close enough to hit both with Sea Shanty/Being Mortal/Nightbloom
      • At this point you have less than 10 seconds to finish off the adds and be ready for the first tankbuster (Magic Hammer) which does about 75% of your HP in damage
      • He has a group damage attack as well, which does more damage than the tankbuster, be ready for it too
    • Big Hairy
      • Doesn't really have a tankbuster, but has an annoying suck-in move
      • Optional Adds are 3 lesser Big Hairys and 2 frogs, I try to avoid the Hairys and take out the frogs

    Gold - The Circles Shift
    • You fight an Elder Summon
    • The next roll all White/Blue/Green/Red circles are gone, it's just Gold and Atamos
    • 2 Gold in a row boss gives drops an extra chest, 3 in a row drops 3 chests, etc

    5th Roll - The Boss
    • Ultros or the big skinny petrificatioin spidery thing from one of the old 24-man raids, maybe others
    • I skipped out on 90% of the Shifting Oubliettes after getting my three completes to finish up the achievement, to get my dungeon achievement
    • Keep yourself healed and you'll be fine

    Data for my 1,159 runs:

    585/1,159 portals (50.5%)

    420 Shifting Oubliettes (36.2%)

    165 dungeon (14.2%)
    • Door to 2nd chamber - 137/165 (17 rainbow path, 83.0% success, 81.1% success without path)
    • Door to 3rd chamber - 79/137 (9 rainbow path, 57.7% success, 54.7% success without path)
    • Door to 4th chamber - 37/79 (46.8% success)
    • Door to 5th chamber - 12/37 (32.4% success)

    Gambler's Lure

Occasionally when you clear a Dungeon chamber and open the main chest you're given a chance to gamble up to 5 times, for up to a 6x reward (tomes, gil, and items)

You're shown a card from 1-9, and guess if the next card flipped is higher or lower. First correct guess doubles the loot, 2nd correct guess gets you triple the original loot, etc. If you guess wrong, you lose it all

    1st round, should I gamble?
    • Yes, you have a 77% of doubling your loot if you play the odds
    • You won't see the first card unless you agree to gamble, at which point it flips over the 1st card
    • It's not a deck of cards, or the deck is very large or is regularly shuffled, so all numbers 1-9 have an equal chance of occurring
    • Pick higher for 1-4, lower for 6-9, and whatever you feel for 5
    • If the 2nd card matches the first, they vanish and you get a new 1st card

I won first round, should I go again?
    • The 2nd card from the previous round will be your 1st card for the following round
    • The second gamble only increases your loot by 50% (2x to 3x) so you need a 66.7% success rate to break even on average
      • If you have a 1 or 9: 97% success chance (Yes)
      • If you have a 2 or 8: 86% success chance (Yes)
      • If you have a 3 or 7: 75% success chance (Yes)
      • If you have a 4 or 6: 64% success chance (No)
      • If you have a 5: 53% success chance (No)

I won second round, should I go again?
    • The 2nd card from the previous round will be your 1st card for the following round
    • The third gamble only increases your loot by 33.3% (3x to 4x) so you need an 75% success rate to break even on average
      • If you have a 1 or 9: 97% success chance (Yes)
      • If you have a 2 or 8: 86% success chance (Yes)
      • If you have a 3 or 7: 75% success chance (Your call, even odds)
      • If you have a 4 or 6: 64% success chance (No)
      • If you have a 5: 53% success chance (No)

I won third round, should I go again?
    • The 2nd card from the previous round will be your 1st card for the following round
    • The fourth gamble only increases your loot by 25% (4x to 5x) so you need an 80% success rate to break even on average
      • If you have a 1 or 9: 97% success chance (Yes)
      • If you have a 2 or 8: 86% success chance (Yes)
      • If you have a 3 or 7: 75% success chance (No)
      • If you have a 4 or 6: 64% success chance (No)
      • If you have a 5: 53% success chance (No)

I won fourth round, should I go again?
    • The 2nd card from the previous round will be your 1st card for the following round
    • The fourth gamble only increases your loot by 20% (5x to 6x) so you need an 83% success rate to break even on average

    Wait, why isn't a 1 or 9 a 100% success rate?
    • If you have a 1 and draw another 1 (1/9 chance) you're given a new card with no chance to exit with your loot
    • Playing the odds with that card, you have a 2/9 chance of losing
    • That comes out to a 2/81 chance of losing with a 1 or 9

    tldr:
    • Always take the first gamble
    • Always go on 1, 2, 8, or 9
    • Never go on 4, 5, or 6
    • Go on 3 or 7 for the second round, and the third if you feel lucky
