Day 1 of trying to convince people this game is terrible.

It's still feeding into a pointless conflict that pats the ego of the worst of both sides and stirs up more useless mud-flinging and back-and-forth answer-and-respond threads, prolonging the drama and inevitably giving the garbage the trolls post the air they crave in the first place. It's inevitably also somehow always the same people doing it, who have admitted on more than one occasion the entertainment they derive from all the mess. It's just hypocrisy.

Realistically speaking, I'd be surprised if this thread moved the needle. I agree that the trolls would starve without attention, but there are more than enough people who already give them more than enough attention in their own threads. The trolls wouldn't stop if this thread didn't exist, nor do I expect them to post more frequently due to its existence.

And personally, I don't see this as feeding any sort of conflict because this thread is very clearly just mocking transparent troll behavior, rather than genuinely held beliefs. And at least from the comments so far, it seems like everyone understands that and nobody's genuinely making arguments about whether the game is good or bad. To an extent beyond most other threads I've seen in these forums, there doesn't really seem to be any conflict here. My personal read is that rolling our collective eyes at troll behavior is an activity that players from all walks of life can get behind and unite behind.

You may perceive it as harmless, because you haven't been part of these forums for very long. Unfortunately, there's a long and rather storied history behind certain users and their part in all of this, which is what I was referencing in my other post.

It's the same people on both sides fanning each other's flames to their own ends, and attempting to remove accountability for adding to the mess the forums are in by claiming it's a "joke" is a cop-out. It all adds to the fire and has an impact, but the truth is people enjoy the drama and like to stir the pot while pretending otherwise for their own reasons. OP in particular was one of the worst for it.

Responding to childish behaviour with your own immaturity isn't the answer, it just encourages more of the same and I shouldn't have to explain why "because other people do it" is a poor mindset to take.
