Few days ago in an interview we got news that the endwalker relic was the MOST completed out of any relic ever. That's really surprising considering people like to throw around that the completion rate is lower than bozja...
.
Which tells me and finally the people that use that xiv achievement site is providing false (and so is lucky bancho and you shouldn't use it as hard evidence) and to my understanding people have to even sign up to record...it should have been obvious regardless since it shows more people clearly uwu than the msq but I digress. Another interesting thing he said is most people didn't really ask for relic specific content until now. Which tells me people didn't care for exploration content at the time, as I have always been saying - but anybody that's played SB and ShB already knew this.
However it isn't all doom and gloom for the classic relic steps fans, yoshi-p does know there are people that like the long grind so I'm not going to sit here and confidently say that 7.x will be the same as endwalker but the chances are very slim in returning back to ARR/HW styled Relic as data shows people VASTLY prefer what we have now due to people playing multiple jobs jobs days warning more one relic and people of the younger generation prefer this style opposed to the older generation that grew on hardcore grinding and taking 120 hours for a single relic.
Something people don't like to realize is games HAVE to appeal to the younger generation because we are the ones buying and playing games mostly now and even we have busy lives, so faster relics are the best option to get relics as we can't really invest over 120 hours for a single relic.
One big counter point I see people use a lot against the high completion rate is that it's easy to get due to you being able to get it passively.
That is true HOWEVER SE obviously knows people enjoy it even if that's the case. So it's not just it's easy to get , it's more it's accessible and people "enjoy" that they're able to get it so easily hence it's popular. I can see people bringing up bozja and it's decent completion rate as people always use that site as proof however...despite that completion rate nobody actually enjoyed doing it. It was a means to an end, if it was popular CBU3 would have brought it back for a 3rd time but they didn't. Companies like SE have incredible powerful tools to know what people want, they know what people talk about and what they like. They know what's being said in game chat and in the official fourms.

If you guys didn't know the save the queen story was cancelled because it was very unpopular, why everything happened off screen/via
All an all. 7.x relic steps has a very high chance of being the same as 6.x steps but it's not guaranteed so feel free to keep giving your feedback.
Now for variant dungeons. I'm quite relieved to know that this content has been extremely successful. Another nail in the coffin of people using that achievement site to determine it's activity. Which I've always found strange since when I queue in these dungeons they pop up in less than 5mins. However keep in mind they said variant and not criterion meaning the savage version could very well not be active as even I have to admit that I very rarely see people actively recruiting for this, but we do have confirmation that variant at the very less has been a success and it's coming in 7.x at a faster rate rather than just being every other patch. I think most people even hear enjoyed varient.
.
I sorry if I sound like I'm gloating but I feel vindicated after always being called a lier and people always bringing up the xiv achievement site which is mostly NA and EU using it and even a very niche amount of people even create an account for it.
.
One thing I'm happy to bring up and finally put to rest is a long standing belief that CBU3 only listens to japanese. Well I'm pleased to say that no that's not true as they're directly adjusting criterion dungeons SOLELY due to overseas players aka NA and EU. So you guys can stop this silly idea that they only listen to japanese.
So with all that. 7.X is looking to be a GREAT expansion.
