I think it's worthwhile for them to look into, and it's good they're doing a public stress test. I wonder if NA will be first and they'll do one for each region.

Yes, what a criminal OP is, what an absolute lunatic he is, for... *checks notes* ... talking about the Final Fantasy XIV live letter on the Final Fantasy XIV official forums as it's broadcast.
In any case, I bet it'll be one of those things that has a really horrible growing pains period where the game is basically unplayable and our concerns about the lag get ignored until it affects a Japanese player and then suddenly the game goes down all day to fix it.
I agree, a Cloud data center would be an awful idea.
They should do a Vivi data center instead.

I'm hoping with cloud data centers they can actually spread them out. I would kill to have a data center that isn't just in southern california or west coast USA, if you aren't in that region the ping makes a number of jobs just unplayable or immensely unfun.
Having an East Coast US, West Coast US, Midwest US, and maybe South America DCs for America would be preferable but that's just a pipedream right now.

my default answer to all thiiq cloud stuff is : get you head out of the cloud and your feet on the ground.I'm hoping with cloud data centers they can actually spread them out. I see daily what a bad idea cloud stuff is. have network issues once and you are screwef unble to do anything
the entire game already operates like that, if anything going to a cloud provider with redundancy would have more uptime than we do now
The better idea is to not bother with any changes.
The last time they tried to "improve" the infrastructure we had months of 90k issues.
