That's part of what I mean when I say stuff is different depending on alot of variables with pf. The game isn't just "full blown degeneracy" like some here claim.

Why would you need to weed out minors if you aren't doing adult things? I don't really understand the point of weeding out minors just because you can if you aren't doing anything a minor couldn't safely participate in.

First, this depends on what you define as "adult things". It doesn't have to rise to ERP to be uncomfortable with this.

Some adults want to be able to relax and be themselves without minors around. From just casual cuss words, talking about their lives, etc. can result in some "adult" conversations. Some people don't want to be around children as part of their social or RP groups.

Also for story-based roleplay even with rules prohibiting ERP, romantic RP relationships that may come up between characters as a part of storytelling. It would feel very uncomfortable if you had minors intermingling with adults, especially if they "blur" between their characters and OOC.

In RP, you also may have violent and intense scenes depending on where the story goes, and content and themes that probably can't be processed well by minors.

Let's see do you take a minor to a adult party where there maybe drinking, smoking and swearing? RP can have adult themes that doesn't always mean ERP. I don't understand what you don't understand about that? Rinse your mind out, personally I wouldn't want to be responsible for having to explain a RP scene that maybe rated R to a minor so it's easier to say 18+ allowed.

I didn't specifically say ERP. I said "adult things" which includes the entire category you described. FFXIV is the only place I seen in awhile that tries really hard to convert the game into an adult only community and it seems to be mostly 'roleplayers' causing it. Which is ironic when most people began RPing at a young age.

This exactly. Also adults not wanting to be around children in their free time is not unique, whether there is RP or not.

It's tiring because it's true. This game has an 18+ problem. Even game journalist websites produce articles about it. The game has a known reputation for it.

Apples to oranges. Every game is different, every community is different, situations have different circumstances, demographics, audiences, and marketing strategies. I never played ESO so I won't make any statements about other games I know nothing about.

Because I personally don't want to be rping with minors? I don't want to talk about games irl with minors either for example. Bars don't allow minors yet they aren't for sexual activities. Is it a crime to want an adult only space now? I'd think it'd be more of an issue if someone said in pf "Minors allowed". That's far more sus to me than "18+" no matter if it's nsfw or not.
