I suppose I am not an average person.
Candy Crush is some mobile game that is supposed to have been very successful. And that is all I know about it.
Fortnite I have heard mentioned. It appears to be popular. I have no idea what kind of game it is.

What makes that even funnier is WoW came out in 2004, 19 years ago. But prior to that in 1994 Orcs vs Humans was the precursor, two more Warcraft games would come out after that. Final Fantasy series of games came out in 1987. EQ was king prior (in the west) to that having came out in 1999. The reason WoW was so popular, besides the games prior to the MMO were fun was they didn't punish players as harshly as EQ. De-leveling is not fun, having to run to your body is not fun, having to constantly group to progress is not fun. Lastly gaming is in a constant state of change. There will always be new players available to replace others who moved own. MMOs do have a shelf life

ive been playing wow classic and while its lack of QOL does frustrate the hell out of me (especially using a controller mod) i am enjoying the return to a classic mmo feel, and i think i could be content having each on the side. ik 14 has its issues, many of them im sure will get fixed. but 14 is just never gona be the best of wow. and perhaps thats for the best because even the best of wow is still very polarisingWhat makes that even funnier is WoW came out in 2004, 19 years ago. That is the right attitude to take for sure. If you enjoy classic WoW play it. I personally did my time in WoW all those years ago and I have since moved on from it. It wasn't my cup of tea anymore. I tried going back for the first time this last year and I didn't last a week so to each their own. I'm old enough to know what I like and what I don't. Enjoy Life you only get one.
people keeping multiple active accounts with boosted characters are whales, too.
A game in which people buy MULTIPLE mounts and glams in duplicates for their main character and their alts (sometimes a lot of them), at FULL PRICE, even if people would leave in droves at this point, what is called the "whales" aka people buying every single mog station item and even buying it in duplicates would keep SE afloat just with that, the good old argument of "just quit and vote with your wallet" doesnt work in FFXIV because of that.

Sensationalist drama with no proof to back up the claims? Wonder who it could be! Man, you have a lot of accounts and free time.
Once again, we ask for you to prove ANY of your statements. Poll them. On you go. I'll start at my JOB! Where I WORK! And see the SUN'S BLESSED LIGHT! Who funnily enough ALSO play games and are all really into Baldur's Gate 3 right now.
