Your silliest deaths

Have you ever experienced weird and funny deaths before?

To start, I'll tell a funny way I have died in game.
I was still learning blue mage and thought I could complete a boss fate alone. This was in the churning mists. There were two dragons fighting, so I technically had an ally. This would be easy enough, right? Nope! My attacks were barely doing damage and I kept getting tagged by adds. Then the boss turned to me and breathed fire (took about 90% of my health). It proceeded to go back to beating up the other dragon. I got killed by a dragonet moments later. Though, you could say my hubris killed me in that moment.

Fighting Eden Titan one time, I was in my red mage melee phase when he started his go-cart charge. Right as I hit my backflip to get away, a healer Rescued me, server ticks tripped over each other, and I went flying.

Backflipping off the edge of the map as any job with a jump back. Repelling Shot, Elusive Jump, Displacement, ect.

Thinking I could teleport across a gap with aetherial manipulation.

The struggle is real when we're not at the level of the scions with real jump dashes. They're the true master of gap-closing.

Walking into the wall on quickmarch, multiple times.

Accidentally double-casting old Cleric Stance when needing to heal back during ARR or HW, thus being incapable of healing for several seconds. Or thinking your cast didn't go through and trying again only to discover you were just lagging and meeting the same fate.

My very first time doing praetorium. This was before cutscenes were made unskippable. I didn't know some of the tricks people did like running to that one port place and everyone going through and leaving the mobs behind. Yeah I died right there. Didn't know how to get back. died a couple times trying. Got pulled in an immediately ended up in a cutscene (I didn't even know how to skip cutscenes I was so new). Died as soon as I came out of the cutscene. Tried to get back another cutscene + die coming out of it. I never saw 3/4 of the dungeon as I spent the entire time trying to get back to the group in a cutscene followed by dead loop. I felt like such an idiot and was so terrified of the place I didn't do it again for 2 years.

Staying confidently in the danger zone and casting. Hitting Aetherial Manipulation - but nothing happens because I am staying out of range.

Sometimes the wires in my brain get crossed and I do the exact opposite of the mechanic. I'll watch what side Hansel and Gretel's axes are on, or which of Hashmal's arms is burning, and something inside me says "Alright, that's the side the attack is on, so... run into it!!" I'm sure somewhere deep down inside a little voice is screaming, but on the surface I'm just like "Me watch for tells, me good player."
