It's been a decade since the original General Forum Rules were written and they seem somewhat out of date compared to changes online communities have experienced over the years, especially among those out to stir up trouble.

I would like to suggest that the appropriate team member(s) review and update the rules to address some of the issues that have a tendency to derail and/or bury constructive discussion and otherwise make certain the rules reflect modern standards for FFXIV.

One thing in particular that I think needs to be addressed is the mass bumping of threads that last had response several years in the past ("necros"), frequently with a generic comment that is not constructive in any way. They have a tendency to confuse other posters that do not realize the thread is very old and may contain information that is no longer accurate.

It would be better if threads were locked after a reasonable period without any replies. Forum visitors would still be able to search for information and read them, and links to them could be added in current discussions if they contain relevant information. It would prevent confusion and keep current discussions from getting buried behind multiple necro'd posts.
