I'm not mad over missing emote but confused about how eu players are being treated?

Locked out of emotes because regions.
What else? Fall guys event on EU locked out only to 2 weeks per year like blizzard's mage tower during shadowlands?

There will be a NA event, but it will only work for west coast americans, again.

KFC is a world-wide company. I don't understand why they can't do that even through the entire world. We have plenty of player in Europe or North America, yet we feel like we are left on the side...

I doubt that in Europe and even in NA that KFC has the same relevance as it does in Japan. Its the chains 3rd largest market and at Christmas, around the likely time of the promo, you are more likely to have KFC than turkey...

But even then, That could be significant boost to both parties. Player goes into KFC to buy the intended product -> KFC benefits from this. Non-Player goes into KFC and see something with FFXIV -> Create interesst or curiosity and expand the playerbase -> Square Enix Benefits from this.

I don't think there is a reason to not do it cause it's a win-win situation from both side

likely has more to do with who they were able to make a deal with. KFC in Japan is run by Mitsubishi, who I am sure dont mind an event with another Japanese company. Pretty sure Yum, who runs the US side.. doesnt care enough to do so. we have no idea if they approached Yum or not do we? likely Yum wanted more money to do so, either way, it all comes down to licensing, they got it in Japan and not anywhere else, end of story. they arent going to tell us if they tried or not for several good reasons

It has nothing to do with what company is holding the event.

It has to do with the laws regarding promotional giveaways where you live.

It's easy for SE to hold a JP only giveaway because the only need to worry about the relevant laws in Japan.

It's more difficult to hold a giveaway in NA because while the US and Canada are the main two countries, states in the US and provinces in Canada can each have their own laws affecting giveaways. Fortunately, most of the states and provinces follow the standards set by their national governments so companies will still hold their promotions but exclude residents in those states and provinces that don't.

It's even more difficult to do a promotion in EU because there are 50 different countries with various levels of local government and different laws to navigate. It reaches a point that the time and expense needed to get the promotion approved in at least most of those countries is greater than the marketing value they expect to receive from the promotion. Those rare occasions where they try to hold a promotion in at least a couple of countries that have less restrictive laws, they'll get complaints from those that have to be excluded.

If residents don't like being habitually excluded from promotional events, they need to take it up with their local/regional lawmakers.
