    Server Community

ive played since 2.0 and back in arr I remember there being fate trains and server communities where everyone was out in the overworld and everyone knew each other as e tried to level up and do the content massive fate trains were out in western la noscea, south shroud, eastern la noscea, coerthas, and nothern thanalan than with the people you met you would do wanderer's palace and amdapoor keep for darklight gear and tomes of mythology to get your i90 job set for progging coil of bahamut on one of the static teams your fc recruited you for and you got to know everyone and it was good times.

i was wondering if something like that still exists? is there a NA server that still has the wholesome mmo community vibe? i feel like world travel and data center travel kind of ruined the game tbh

Balmung still has their community in Uldah but as you said World Travel has changed it. Not because people are leaving...because people are joining. However they have a...different opinion of what Balmung is so it's way more deprived as it should be.

The most messed up things to come out of peoples mouths are from travelers and not natives.

After some EXP balancing, FATE trains for leveling up stopped being a thing years ago. Long before cross-world travel, I think during the transition period from ARR to HW. Dungeons and specifically roulettes became the main way to level up.

BLU and adding bicolor gemstones to FATEs were an attempt to bring people back into the overworld but those only get traction around the time there's a BLU update or a new expansion comes out.

Hunt trains bring people together from all corners of the data center so I'd recommend finding a hunt LS if that's something you want.

More often than not I find people don't join/start a PF for those....and they tend to go to some random one that has 15min on it while another has 8min on it, even when both of them can easily be cleared in less than that total time.

I was in Eureka last night, and there was ..sort of a community vibe? As in, people calling out fate locations starting, asking for rezzes, that sort of thing. But no casual chatting going on. That style of thing just isn't really a thing anymore on a grand scale. mmo players have changed, discord is a thing now. Why bother dealing with a hundred trolls in general chat when you can just be in a private voice call with your friends?

Reason for the trains was because it was the only good way to hit 50 back then. Once more places were made to explore through expansions, and more things to do in regards to level, FATE trains disappeared.

    Now they’re for Hunt trains.

I still see folks diving in to help newbies they see biting off more than they can chew out in the world. I know I do often. I have also been known to fly newbies to areas that it is hard to get the aether crystal for as early as they need it.

I think community is out there but it is more individual than any organized group these days.

I did Coerthas and Northern Thanalan a lot. Then Palace of the Dead came along and new players were taught to do that instead of FATEs.

i was wondering if something like that still exists?
For bicolor gemstones in Shadowbringers or Endwalker areas, yes (mostly when the expansion is new). But once it's not new, a lot of people don't understand how to setup parties in Party Finder, or don't bother and just solo them.

Meanwhile, new players actually do ARR FATEs until they discover there are better things to do. They are done for the relics in all expansions too. But once again, they are usually done solo now.

is there a NA server that still has the wholesome mmo community vibe?
We still go out for hunt trains, S ranks and special FATEs and you often see the same people from your world or talk in shout chat.

People who spawn S ranks or conduct hunt trains often get to know eachother well enough to prog savage together, but only a small amount of people do these things.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."
