Agreed. I've never understood the mentality that there is something wrong or disloyal in playing another game. This is entertainment, not a relationship. If you're bored there are options. And you know what? FF XIV will still be here when you come back.

There isn't? Could've fooled me. I guess this means any and all criticism of the game is accurate and correct no?

I mean, if you want to run the risk that your game will be pulled out from under you and shut down at a moment's notice, then sure, Guild Wars II (or anything else by NCSoft) might be the game for you.

    • Been playing a bunch of BG3 myself. Not sold on the Greatest Game of All Time rhetoric, but it's certainly on top of my GOTY list thus far.
    • Limbus Company has wholly overtaken my designated gacha slot - but I don't mind because their monetization strategy is incredibly generous, PM does good work, and the hard content is genuinely challenging rather than the "difficulty" of a hurf durf farm for 16000 hours grind.
    • Dungeon Squad for my 'before bed/on transportation/mid-commute' mobile game.. although the art is rapidly becoming so horny that I'm consciously choosing to sit in the back row of the bus with it. Gamecoaster is a tiny little Korean outfit - might literally just be one guy, I'm honestly not sure - but they pack an incredible amount of replayability in their work and the post-purchase monetization is completely optional.
    • F-Zero 99 came out of nowhere and I love it. Perfect little game for burning 10-20 minutes here and there on. Quite the skill ceiling on it, without it feeling totally unapproachable or making you feel totally uncompetitive if you're not a master.

Armored Core 6 looks spectacular, but I just haven't had the time yet. Blue Protocol was on my radar, but after two of my former co-workers who shared those hopes went to AGS and have become absolutely silent on the subject, coupled with what I've heard from the previews and betas, I've had to let that one go.

Only to disgruntled FFXIV players is daring to suggest someone play something they DO enjoy instead of a game they don't enjoy considered some grave logical fallacy. It's bizarre.

    As for suggestions:

    - BG3 (obviously)
    - Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 is coming next week
    - AC VI
    - EDF 6 HOPEFULLY soon
    - I've been replaying Fallout 3 in the New Vegas engine, very fun as well.

    Is Cyberpunks 2077 2.0 MMO?

On main topic, Mao loves FFXIV very much but Mao has big list of wants for making game more funs. List includes: GW2 style systems of Storage, Dyes and Glams; Improve PVP System whats more balanced; More midcore contents for players whats want little bits more challenge; Exploration to become more significants and rewardings; And last but CERTAINLY nots least, a more robust housings system that will allow housings for ALL AND makes that housings with more options and detailings. Now, this does nots mean Mao dislike FFXIV. Just means Mao thinkings game could be betters.

    Cyberpunk 2077 is NOT mmo

For housing mmos, as weird as it sounds, I loved Star Wars: The Old Republic. Housing was for everyone, was easy to get into, and the houses were massive. Of course, you don't have the really nice looking furniture like we have in FFXIV though, so everything looks ..not as good.

I mean, if you want to talk housing, star wars galaxies still has the best system of any game to release ever.

Only to GCBTW is “play something else” a valid shield against the idea that EW physically didn’t release enough content

Can you imagine using that defence against the WOW community, they’d laugh you out of the forums
