I honestly hate the POTD 180 boss

So many years trying, and I just can't do it.

The magical keyboard warriors can pull it off, but me using a controller is a detriment I'm finally realizing.

Ecliptic Meteor cheapest **** I ever seen.

Congrats to those that can get past this wack ass behemoth.

By timing the Dragoon Jump emote just right you can dodge the meteor impact due to the I-frames... oh wait, wrong game... >.>

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.

Yeah the Monster Hunter World collab, it's part of maximizing damage uptime on it by avoiding the part where you run and hide behind the smaller rocks to avoid the shockwave from the big one lol.

So what exactly is it that KBM players can do that you can't with a controller...?

By keyboard warriors in this case I think he meant anonymous online posters always describe challenging content as braindead easy

Party or solo, and what job are you playing? It isn't hard on anything other than Paladin and Bard. (Black Mage is hard on 180 but the actual meteor push is easy).

I don't believe any single job other than Bard requires macros either, turning off the food buff is unnecessary, so I'm not sure why you're having a controller-specific issue.

Personally I think 181-189 is the hardest part of PotD on any single job, because mimic chances double while gold chest rates drop from 75% to 50%. 180 is just purely about memorizing and executing a specific reopener on second Charybdis, you don't even need to lust properly actually (I just lust at <25% whenever it's convenient, don't need to wait until 20%), and autoing it down to exactly 15.0% is unnecessary on almost all jobs (<16% is good enough).

180 boss is the hardest op. Controller has nothing to do with it. I beat it with controller but it was a scrape

You want to get pomander of lust up on it around 21% and push him into starting his meteors when he's mid going to the side of the arena for cleave or charybdis so you have more time
He starts using meteor at 15% health.
His meteor does 80% of your health every 8 or 9 seconds. So if you're a healer or rdm with sustain potions, you can attrition it.

Dont stand directly in front of him during the cast. He can still auto you.

Completely depends on the job. 180 is trivial on Warrior. On something like Bard it suddenly becomes extremely hard.

Probably meant macros that click off buffs (food buff or HP-modifying buffs like Thrill of Battle).

It is not needed technically on all but the hardest jobs (like BRD or maybe PLD), it's just a comfort thing. Of course if the rotation you're copying does factor that you'd need to come up with your own rotation.

Also most jobs are really just spamming 1-2-3 at Lv60, so there's ample room to put a macro on your hotbar, it's not like you need something like Air Anchor on your hotbar in PotD.

It's really unclear exactly what OP means, maybe he's talking about disengaging from the boss to push to 15.0? (PC users can press Escape, I'm not sure if controller users can easily do that) Or pop lust? (As I've mentioned it is not needed to do it as tightly at 20% as possible, you can do it whenever it's below 25% at any comfortable spot for you).

I have a feeling though that none of these issues are the real problem, it's that the nerves is getting to OP. Understandable, but no strategy or guide is going to help if you just get too anxious in the moment to perform.

If OP mentions which job he is playing on, I can probably link a VOD. OP can then practice on a dummy.

Also if OP is playing something like PLD or BRD, yeah that's the problem, play on WAR or MCH. It is way, way easier. (It is ridiculously, ridiculously easy on MCH and you don't need to even bother clicking off the food buff, see example: https://youtu.be/1q4me_OsKds?si=oTdX...mom1Yc&t=14581. It's even easy on BLM where all you simply need to do is execute your normal Lv60 rotation and just clip in Manaward and Sustaining: https://youtu.be/EoJ2nFDKq-c?si=KYKf...EnYvNQ&t=10620)

If the OP is worried about tinkering with buffs, putting them on and taking them off, it sounds like they might be trying to solo it.

That makes timing the most important thing, and being able to disengage from the battle, even stopping your auto attack, and waiting for the right instant to start the biggest burst you can do.

The food shenangans let you get TWO fills of the bar in order to take him down, instead of just one.

But why NOT make a macro to do it for you, and put it on like the 10th page somewhere?
