If the player is doing their own map farming, then certainly it's profitable at any price.

The OP claims that the seller is buying the materials off the MB then selling at a loss.

Even if the seller is doing both, I don't see it coming out with a net gain unless the seller is also botting the maps (always a possibility). While the map bots were very obvious in Shadowbringers, I haven't seen any sign of them since start of Endwalker. Common belief seems to be they've moved from map and Eureka bunny farming to general FATE farming to buy gemstone vouchers to sell.

If there is RMT involved with the seller the OP is talking about, we're missing part of the picture.


We don't know what other characters the seller has. A lot of players set up dummy alts just to avoid potential harassment.

I can't say RMT isn't involved but I also can't say that it is involved with the information the OP provided. As I said above, there's information we're missing here.

No Info missing here. Make a Char on a Light Server, check the Market Board for Frontier Items and Calfskin Items and then tell me which Name you see on 90% of all Items. Here a little Hint with which Letters the Names Starts:

I totally do this and never been into RMT. If I see items selling for twice the price on Aether where I have a character, I ask a friend to pass items I crafted (mostly food) to an alt and put them on the MB over there.

That is Bullshit. When it comes to Money in a Game none shares, not even those super duper nice Players with a Heart of Gold.

I put extra minions, several dyes, food and useful potions in the FC chests of the fcs I am part of. I don't put in garbage that no one would use though.

I even gift night pegasus, dodo mounts and minions and mounts from unreals (got 4 characters farming them) worth millions each to fc members on a one to one basis (those I insist they be for personal use and not resell due to their value and the efforts involved to get them). However, as others have said, you would have to change your attitude to be on my gift list. I only give the most valuable stuff to people who participate in fc activities, help others when they can and have a good overall attitude.

I will never change or bend myself just to get gifts. I'm not for sale, boy. Everything I have, I earned and farmed myself. You may impress a few newbies with your gifts, but not me.

lol it's not to buy out or impress people out but grats on the negative attitude. Keep complaining!

I guess you will never learn to just give and accept gifts simply because it's fun and making people happy is better than having a miserable attitude...and I am far from the only one doing it. I could just sell them on the MB but what's the point? I have no use for more gils than I have (I am far from maxed but I have pretty much all I want) and if others in the fc can enjoy the mounts and minions, the better.

And all this rubbish is just a normal player selling his goods extremely underpriced. He/she has such a good heart... that's exactly why this super nice, kind-hearted person is allowed to harass me extremely on every server on the market board.
And it's always those who dare to say something against such people who are to blame; they are then beaten down by the whole pack. No wonder the same people always hang out here. These forums are so toxic that new people don't even post here. It's probably my fault or the fault of some other stupid person who wrote something against someone else or has their own opinion.

I hope that each of you gets such a kind-hearted player on your data center. Every time you try to sell something that this player hasn't sold before on this server, 1 hour later it's no longer worth anything. Because this nice good player flooded the market.
As long as it affects other players, it's not so bad... right?
