The content being at least as good? That's a very funny thought. What are you talking about? What I mean is I don't expect Dawntrail to be as intensive as Endwalker, because it's a new beginning. I expect the quality of the story to be better and I want the content to be at least as good. The quality of the story can be great despite it being more grounded and smaller scale. Why is this an issue?
I don't want to skyrocket the stakes right at the gate like the patch storyline 'just beacuse'.
The idea that 7.0 can't impress people because it's going up against the previous story is crazy. All of the expansions are unique and have their own flavor despite being tied together.
Anyone with eyes can see in the latest trailer there's just nothing going on in it that is interesting outside guessing the latest job. This hasn't been the case with past trailers and is unique to DawnTrail. It totally relies on you being hyped by just seeing characters.
I hate sounding critical on every post, but a lot of the positivity on the forum seems counter productive
The positivity on the forums are fake. Most of it is written by people who don't play the game. The idea that 7.0 can't impress people because it's going up against the previous story is crazy. All of the expansions are unique and have their own flavor despite being tied together.

First rule of managing hype, keep your expectations so low that the bar is underground. This way, you won’t be disappointed or hurt when thing don’t go your way. If they turn out otherwise, enjoy!
As to all of us feeling down, this is more of a pacing issue, except the relic, they outright screwed up on that. The content they had for the MSQ for 6.1 to 6.55 could easily have been done in 2 patches, not 5.5. They should have stuck with the formula and run the EW story through patch 6.3 by having 6.0 end with the Zord fight. Had they done this, our conversations would have been a bit different. Probably same issues but not as intense as it is now as we have experienced the longest content droughts in the games history with the longest yet starting in January.
We all love this game and are upset with how things are going, we hope the devs will hear us and not do this again. You know things are really bad when the complaining stops.
People are doing it in this very thread:
"Keep your expectations low and hope to be surprised"
What ever happened to the old hype train, Oh lawd it's comin'! memes pre-expansion?! We got a lazy river float going on now.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
I think Metion’s song has done its thing on the community, depression expansion, darkness, etc. I’ll feel better after I’ve had my cruise in the islands… hopefully, but that’s 8-ish months from now.
XDXDXDXDXD
If EW gives you depression do you only enjoy stories for little children?
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
I was just thinking that post count should go away in favor of play time.
Because the real truth is blind defenders use it against you either way. You're either not playing at all and don't know what you're talking about or you're playing it and contradicting your own analysis (ie if the game has issues why are you playing). It's a dumb tactic.
