He isn't very elegant but he usually does bring up some good points. People just get too caught up in the easy target he gives to actually have a decent debate.
Not his fault people would rather jump down his throat than actually discuss his suggestion and it's counterpoints. It happens but gets burried under people looking to slap off a witty remark about how they hate him.

Just Questing to level up only? So what no Exp parties? I think its stupid if there doing that. What I found is the EXP cap needs to be increased around lv45-50 by 50%, since its easyer to gain exp cus of abilities and such towards the end levels.

As this is a Rokien thread, I pretty much only read the first page and then skipped to the end, so please forgive my ignorance of the rest of the discussion. Just going to throw my 2 cents in here:
Yoshi said several times that he wants there to be many methods of leveling up including griding, quests, PVP, ...SO unless something has changed, I don't think you should be worried.

Your first 50 will likely be done by following the main story/sidequest chains with some "grinding" (basically there are unrelated monsters in your way so you kill them) on the way. After that I imagine it'll be a lot like it is now with leves/behests/parties. As long as they at least try to have quality over quantity for their leveling quests then it'll be okay. If it's just WoW style "Hail adventurer! Blah blah blah bring me 10 bear asses" then it'll actually kind of suck. Yoshida's team hasn't really messed up that badly though other than a couple things so I'm not too worried about that.
I think rokien has some kind of issues, but I'm with him on this matter.
An advancing storyline - YES
An advancing storyline that replaces the EXPing - NO

I like quest chainsThey get me more involved in the game. Right now the story is separate from the actual game. You do cutscenes and instanced NPCs for story, then go out and act as if nothing ever changed in the world and kill 99999999999999999 marmots.
EDIT: Of course, there would still be grinding and PLing for people who don't like quests.

Yeah, like a storyline generally should be. You shouldn't be thrown to level cap for speaking with NPCs honestly...but that's what people like.

A storyline shouldn't have any effect on the actual game and should only serve as a very brief break from 10 levels of grinding, you mean?
