I'm having a hard time figuring out what the actual problem is with having "Quest Chaining". I mean, let me ask it this way..."Yes, unlike current version it's not where you kill mobs to level but the development is being done to a style where you naturally level up by clearing contents."
And, no thank you. This can only mean one thing QUEST CHAINING!~
Seriously, I don't wanna go do 20 quests, move to a different area do their 20 quests..... seriously. I hope they don't do this. This comment right there makes me worried.
D-d-d-d-d-d-d-DEAL BREAKER!
Also thank you Reinheart for the translation!~ As always

What would you like to do in the game, other then doing quests? Explore on your own? Tackle roaming primals (like Odin)? Clear dungeons? Craft items/gear? Form/join a party for grinding XP/SB/Beastcoins/Seals/etc? You can still do all theses things wether or not these quest hubs will be introduced in 2.0.
So, why is having the ability to chain quests going to be a deal breaker for you? If 2.0 would introduce a whole bunch of Quest hubs in each area, then they would be more content for players to do within the game. It's up to you as a player if you want to do these quests after all.
Could you clarify that for me?
Credit goes to Niqo'te for her fabulous art in the "Nique's happy fun time!"-thread and Nix/Capa for the Caitlyn drawing to the right. \(^_^ )/
Give her your support by liking their art!
Though I may disagree with Rokien about not implementing quest chaining (I see nothing wrong per-se, so long as it's meaningful quest chaining and not what MMOs practice today), games that have employed quest chaining are filled with quests full of mindless and boring paragraphs without any decent story whatsoever.I'm having a hard time figuring out what the actual problem is with having "Quest Chaining". Yep, and people say the same about XIV's dialogue, even though in XIV the dialogue is actually meaningful in the long run given the type of era it is.Though I may disagree with Rokien about not implementing quest chaining (I see nothing wrong per-se, so long as it's meaningful quest chaining and not what MMOs practice today), games that have employed quest chaining are filled with quests full of mindless and boring paragraphs without any decent story whatsoever.
Most MMOs you can't even determine an era through NPCs that doesn't flatout say "THIS IS THE MIDDLE AGES!", they're that 2 dimensional.
That is my only true gripe with Quest Chaining for progression, lifeless even if the quest is "fun", it means you're more than likely doing it for the exp and no one can truly deny that :\
That's what I love about ffxiv is their dialogue and they had to dumb that down as well, BECAUSE, people complained....Yep, and people say the same about XIV's dialogue, even though in XIV the dialogue is actually meaningful in the long run given the type of era it is.

Well every quest will have their story line.... the problem is go play any other mmo besides FFXI, it sucks. You just do 20 quests from one area, go to the next area go do their quests, next area. Till your max level. It has no backbone.
Are you implying that killing cactuars for 10 levels then killing diremites for 10 levels then killing ants for 10 levels then killing raptors for 10 levels then killing beastmen for 5-10 levels is a good system? They want to make this into a more modern MMO, they have said as much with regards to the UI and game systems, why should leveling be any different?
