Quest Chaining!? <NO THANKS>

Still, I'd rather Rokien Scream No! than sit here and actually end up with Quest based leveling. This game would be awful with quest based leveling.

Why not? We have quests that give EXP now and yet people still do parties.

You do realize the quests that give exp doesn't give you near enough exp like quest chaining does right? If you PURPOSEFULLY design quests to level someone, no one will choose any other route, especially if the quest chaining is a solo experience (which it most likely will be.)

The main storyline initially gave an inflated amount of exp because it took an epic amount of exp to level your physical level. When they removed it they scaled back the exp which gives you just enough exp to boost your gauge but you can't cap off doing the main storyline alone. Granted you may not have played XIV when this was around.


With quest chaining, you can cap off. That's the difference. You can say "You have the choice" but when people feel 1 choice is better than the other, guess what? You no longer have a choice because everyone else will be doing the other thing.

Perfect example:

"If you want to do Ifrit, level Lancer."

Year later

"Btw, you need to stack THM/BLMs on Ifrit, LNC/DRG and PUG/MNK are worthless in this fight."

MMO communities just can't handle having choices no matter how much they beg for it.

However, you're doing a lot of damage to players who are thinking of coming back to the game. Many do not know that this is your M.O. and take your posts to heart.

I read in some third party forums about a person considering coming back and he commented that the "official" forums are filled with "elitist" FFXI transplants that want nothing else but to make FFXIV 2.0 into FFXI 2.0, or in your case... FFXIV 1.0.

In all honesty, this isn't funny anymore.... You've become the boy who cried wolf and any idea that you later suggest that may be a good one will be forever lost in the infamous reputation that' you've now developed....

Just Questing to level up only? So what no Exp parties? I think its stupid if there doing that. What I found is the EXP cap needs to be increased around lv45-50 by 50%, since its easyer to gain exp cus of abilities and such towards the end levels.

Vast majority of the the people that reply know that to be true. Rokien has a few "followers" that help him keep idiotic posts on the front page.

I realize the irony of my post keeping this thread alive, but it only in protest, not because I find his posts to be anything substantive... far from it. He's a child seeking attention. The same way my 4 year old acts up when wanting a rise out of me.

You are wrong on sooo many levels. I'm by far not an elitist, have you even played with me? I never even did end game on FFXI(I did but that's not what I enjoy)
Why take out good ideas from ffxiv 1.0?
Why not bring back good ideas from FFXI?
Like their story, questing, and all that stuff that made ffxi one of the best story games.

The people who need to grow up are the people calling others names and what not. I consider my self one of the more civil on these forums.

FFXI was essentially an Everquest clone, just with FF characteristics. Not saying that this game should be a WoW clone, nor that I am for it, but it really doesn't need to take ideas solely from FFXI. We're getting things like HNMs and open world primals, which is fine honestly.

Also, Rokien knows full well why people react the way they do. He's got the most absurd threads, and plenty of them.

As this is a Rokien thread, I pretty much only read the first page and then skipped to the end, so please forgive my ignorance of the rest of the discussion. Just going to throw my 2 cents in here:

Yoshi said several times that he wants there to be many methods of leveling up including griding, quests, PVP, ...SO unless something has changed, I don't think you should be worried.
