This hairstyle (+outfit) situation has gone on long enough.

See title. I'm a huge fan of character designs similar to what both Ysayle from FFXIV and what Jill from FFXVI wear, so under normal circumstances I would have bought this latest Online Store addition not just once but multiple times for the several female alts I have. I don't really care for people to chime in saying it's just an ARR recolored robe, I like the flairs it has that make it unique. Except there's one glaring issue.



I refuse to buy this outfit without the hair included. People have been giving the same feedback repeatedly through the years that we want longer hairs available but here we are and we can't get a hairstyle that was made all the way back in 2014? The same one that was at some point adapted to fit another model's head already for the DRK quests in Stormblood? I don't think this is acceptable especially when other games routinely allow players to have Ysayle/Jill length hair since character creation. See Lost Ark:



I'm not really interested in excuses at this point either, it shouldn't take 10 years to figure out how to release hair like hers especially when female Viera already have base hairs that lean towards that sort of design. On this and many fronts, FFXIV needs to do better.

The Ysayle (and Gaia) situation is the latest thing that makes me question what the hell is up with SE and the online store.

It's a no brainer that people wanted Ysayle's hair. Gaia, at least, is somewhat understandable, since her hair hasn't been adapted to other heads. However, Ysayle's obviously has that versatility, yet they decided to release an overpriced, undyeable outfit without her iconic locks.

I just...why? Because of clipping, despite the fact that everything clips in this game?

Ignoring that we already have a thread on this same topic, I'm just imaging they release hair for RL money that clips and there not being any threads about it. How lazy clipping hair is and how they spent money for it? People say that now as they want the hair, but complaints would come.

That said for RL money the hair should absolutely be included, along with some effort to prevent clipping in as many outfits as possible. Because asking for $12 should take at least a modicum of effort on their part, and more than what they are giving for the asking price..

This is the main reason why it annoys me so much. It's insulting that they would list it as $12 with so little effort put into it.
Also, missed opportunity to get her hair. Still crying about that ;_;.

But for real, I just think they do not care what the community wants but what they want. It feels like they’re going “my game my rules”. I’m just waiting for the Meteion and Venat set which will not only be full but also one whole ass piece. For the former, there will another dyed black for a dollar more.

Yeah unfortunately that also seems to be the case. For more situations than just this one. Hence why players have to rely on devs deciding to take things into their own hands like giving Viera and Hrothgar access to glasses back when the initial plan was to not even let them have that.
