    HUD transfer between characters maybe?

    I'm sure I'm gonna get many a rude reply but, am I the only one that wishes you could easily transfer a HUD/UI from one character to another with the data already uploaded to the server if you made a back up? So long as it's tied to your account it seems like it should be plausible. Am I the...only one that hopes for this? and sorry if in the wrong area.

    Nope I'd want it. It'd make setting up bars for alts that much easier.

    I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

    It's pretty easy to do on a PC. Go to the Documents\My Games\FFXIV folder, open the CHAR folder for your character, copy all the UI dat files such as macros and hotbars, then go back and open the CHAR folder for the new character and paste them in.

    If you don't know which CHAR folder is for which character, the only ways I can suggest figuring it out are to look at the created by and modified at dates, and open the log folder to see when the logs were last modified. The logs are of your chatbox, so if they were last modified today and you logged in today, it is a character you logged into today. Your main character will have a huge amount of these log files too.

    An easier solution would be nice. It can be done manually on PC, though less trivially: find your FFXIV_CHR[long hex string] folders, figure out which one corresponds to which character (you can usually tell from saved chat buffers in /log/, or just logging in and logging out to force a save for that character and watching for which folder updates its Date Modified), and copy over the relevant files:

    Code:
    ADDON.DAT: HUD/Window layouts.
HOTBAR.DAT: Hotbar contents. (Positions are part of ADDON.DAT.)
COMMON.DAT: Character settings
CONTROL0.DAT: Keyboard/mouse settings.
CONTROL1.DAT: Gamepad settings.
KEYBIND.DAT: Keybinds.
MACRO.DAT: Character (not shared) macros.
LOGFLTR.DAT: Chat log filter settings.

    Nope, you aren't the only one who wishes for that, having to copy & paste is a bother and I'd rather the game just allow me to do it INGAME.
